Hello all, I have a Magellan Meridian Gold that I used when I had my KJ. Although you had to load up regions on a SD memory card, it worked great for geocaching and trips when I used it. It worked very well for my needs.

I just finished installing a holder for the cell phone (AT&T 2925 / HTC Wizard) on top if the insterment cluster about 1.5 inches back from the steering wheel... I can glance at the screen and make touch screen adjustments with out taking my eyes off the road or hands off the wheel. The power is a retractable mini-usb under the instrament cluster sun shield. It was a no drill install - everything is held on with automotive adhesive tape

It works great - can easly aquire the satellites. It can be a little slow updating the moving map when driving at speed.

I could not be happier with my Garmin StreetPilot C330. Clear, easy to use....so easy to use it doesnt even come with an instruction manual

From reading this thread, I gather that no matter what "brand" you buy; Any GPS is better than no GPS when you don't know where you are going.

Now that I have a GPS, I really don't know how I got along without it.

Oh, I remember.....driving at night, 20 mph BELOW the speed limit, looking and trying to read a tiny green road sign, doing u turns, etc. Never again will I waste ink and paper printing out one-time Mapquest directions.

Also, not having any idea what restaurants are around.....this thing finds them for me. Another good thing is the nearest gas station....also, with my wife and baby, in the case of emergency, Ive shown her how to find the nearest hospital using the GPS. Never know, might make a difference. My wife feels safer, and man it is soooo convenient

Daughter got me a Garmin Nuvi 250 for Christmas. Never thot I'd need or want one, but its a blast. You can pick them up around $250. They're also great for checking the accuracy of your speedometer.

I have been using a Garmin Nuvi 350 for almost 6 months now... a big improvement over my old eTrex.
It will work so-so for geo-caching, but is not as user friendly for that... since it's set up for driving usage.
It requires a little doing to get at the coordinates, since they're buried under a couple of menus... but as long as you're not on the freeway that shouldn't be a problem.
It also does not (that I'm aware of) do topo maps, which is too bad.

Check out Slickdeals.net... use the search function, I found the Garmin Nuvi 200 for $149.99 and got it for my wife for christmas, she loves it, the only drawback is that she no longer calls me looking for directions. The only complaint I have is that I got all excited when I saw the off road option, and it basically made a straight line to my destinantion.

Nice unit, and we're in our second half of our twenties, and the 200 is a wide enough screen for us.
For the record, I picked ours up at ritz camera on sale, thats where I got the $149.99 sale which I would imagine you should be able to match.

That is a very good price for any Garmin branded GPS...

I got a Mio Digiwalker and it does exactly what I need it to do. Cost me 89 euros, $145, after saving 230 Esso (Exxon) swoop stamps. 1 stamp per 10 liters of fuel. Fits perfect in the KJ out of the way.

I always thought I'd stay old school and not give in to getting a GPS...just myself, the open road and a road map.

This all changed when I was given a Garmin nüvi 260 for Christmas. I always got along fine without a GPS, but now that I have one, I can attest to how incredibly handy they are. Now, if I'm driving to the unknown, all I need is an address or some coordinates.

If you get one, you can't go wrong with a Garmin product. Used it both in the cockpit of an aircraft and, obviously, in my KJ. Haven't had any problems.

Good luck deciding.

Another Vote for the TomTom One !

I love my TomTom, It does everything and I only paid 89.00 For it !!
It's a No B/S Approach to GPS, it doesn't have anything fancy, well.. maybe the celebrity voices... ok.

But for What I paid it works EXCELENT !

Troy.

I am the same way but I ALWAYS keep maps in the car.
