Does anyone know if there is a difference between the shape or size of the 2004 or the 2007 grills?

I saw an ad for the Mesh grill insert on Ebay. It's 9.95 for the 2002 - 2004 but it's 14.95 for the 2005-2007 version?

I did not think there is any difference between the grills until 2008 models came out. Anyone know?

Yes, there is a slight difference. Didn't think it was 50% more expensive different though.

I didnt think it would be 50 percent either but i guess the demand is off for the older model.

Thanks

Save your money and go down to the hardware store and pick up some screen door screen for a couple of bucks then put it in.You can take the grill right off and place the screen on it in about 25-30 minutes. I just put two layers behind the grill and zap-strapped them in place this summer. Once you put the grill back on, the screen is held in place pretty good.

I put mine on before I found this site, but it's pretty much the same thing. The only difference is that I didn't cut mine into small patches. One big layer over the grill was easier.

I thought about doing that because getting the metal mesh is not easy here. But it just dosent look as nice. Then again the black screening might match the bumpers better.

I have always had the notion. You get what you pay for. That screen door thing just looks horrible. I mean its great if you want to keep the bugs out of your radiator. But if your doing it for looks. Then you spend the extra couple bucks.

To be honest i think the window screen looks better than the chrome inserts, I just dont think that much chrome belongs on any Jeep.

There's nothing wrong with a little chrome... I like this screen door idea. It would really save on the bugs that get lodged in my A/C condensor

I would like to find the same mesh thats used for the chrome in a black but I havent seen that.
I could spray paint I guess. Hummm now theres and Idea spray it black!

Now to find the grill or have it shipped here. See living on an island I have problems finding special jeep needs.
If I wanted to decorate with Coconuts that would be No Problem Man! but I'm not sure how helpful it would be unless I added some rum.

As soon as I figure out how to post pictures you will have them.

I ordered the mesh inserts from eBay. They're not chrome. They're just brushed metal. I also seen someone selling a piece that replaces the black grill completely. You can paint them whatevery color and you can pick it up a lot of times at autozone if you want to cut it yourself. Lots of import cars do that.

I like those light mounts sticking out from under the bumper. Have you got any details or photos on the setup?

Those are the grill inserts I was looking for. I have them on my 02 and want a pair for my 07. (Still own both).

Yes I could cut them myself but I can find any mesh like that here on the Rock. I may have to yeild to the mosquito netting.
