I am just curious as to why some of you are having the dealer perform the oil changes? Are they comping them?
It is one of the easiest and rewarding jobs that you can do yourself. Just a thought...

1. I don't have a garage

2. Don't have the right tools (yet)

3. Like to have the service records from day 1

4. I thought they build the thing they should now what is the best and use it! ( I know BIG misconception)

5. Warranty

I used to do all my oil changes on my old VW's when I had tools.

It shouldn't have any impact on your warranty as long as you're keeping your own records, which is no big deal. I always just make use of the maintenance record book which came with the vehicle. I'm no heavy-duty mechanic, but do like to take care of my own oil and filter changes, tire rotations, etc., weather permitting. Just get a decent set of wrenches, a set of ramps, a pan, a filter wrench, a funnel, a torque wrench, and a little compressor and have at it. Hell, put a condom machine in your bathroom and you'll have your own service station!

I love it great truck. Funny story. I believe you bought your KJ from MR Chrysler the same day I got mine. I think I test drove your KJ when the salesman came out and said sorry I have a customer ready to lay down a cheque on this one. It was a guy in a late 70's early 80's Green Ford I think that was also for sale. I saw you on here right after i got mine. I think the guy in the Ford was your father( or you). haha

Anyways see ya round! GO NUCKS!!

LOL! wow yes that was us. The ford was my dads, he was going to take it to the mission to show it off at the car show but i took him with me to help out the deal with the kj and sign things over. And i sent the salesman out after you guys because i seen you looking through it LOL, wow.

The kj i bought was traded in by a couple who also traded in a red kj too but it was a bit beat up and my current kj was out for a 24 hour test drive so i went back the next day and took it for a test drive and day after that i came down to MR chrysler and worked out a deal. Wow that is so funny, so you were the people.

My other car and insurance was in my dads name so i need him down there to sign it over because i bought that and wanted it all in my name this time lol

did you get yours from MR chrysler also? I got a pretty good deal on mine, they were asking $24,900 for it and i got them down to $17,200

That is very funny.

Ya once he told me that they had sold that one I said thanks and was going to leave but then he showed me the 07 with everything I wanted. Told him I wasn't going to pay sticker price even with employee pricing. Then my brother decided to buy a new Caravan so we worked out a great deal for the double sale.
