I found an off road 4X4 shop that will install my Franky for $200.00, based on it taking 4 hours. They have lifted 2 other KJ's. Is 4 hours about right? For the price I figure I can't go wrong.

Sounds about right, I got quoted around 250 to install a suspension lift one time so I think its a good deal.

I never get into any hurry installing them and no air tools up here and it takes me about 3 to 4 average. The Frankenlift took maybe a little longer than the OMEs on mine or the two Rustys, due in part to pulling the bottom of the clevis in with the rachet strap, but not much longer. Funny thing is all took about the same time even with help on the two Rustys, nothing against Sean or Jon mind you

Tom

make a trip up here and I will help you put it on

so how long would it take one person to do an OME lift by themself and no air tools...and no experience installing a lift?

depends on the person
somewhere between 3 hours and 3 days.
tjkj is on the 3 hour side - I'm on the 3 day side.
(okay it really only took me a weekend and 1/2 the time was finding a spring compressor)

Also from a safety standpoint it's a good idea to have an extra person - even if all they're capable of doing is to dial 911.
extra points if they can retieve a wrench - 2x extra if they can identify the correct wrench to hand to you.

think I answered that before but if you have the struts / springs already together then 3 hours.. 4 hours max. Rear is 30 to 45 minutes, front 45 minutes to 60 minutes per side. Even if you include time to run somewhere to get the springs compressed will not take that long. OME heavy Duty springs are tough to compress, thats why I always just suggest that you take them somewhere

I did my own struts and the whole OME HD lift took me about 7 hours. That was the first lift I'd done, so I was taking my time and being cautious. I just had hand tools, no air tools.
