I'm trying to change out the wheels on m cj and the lugnuts are stuck. Tried clamping a 2x4 to my lug wrench to get some leverage but no luck - the nuts aren't moving.

Any ideas as to how to get these off?

Steroids may help, or put a lengh of scaffolding tube over the wrench for more leverage.

do shops rent impacts? I dont want to go out and buy one to find the nuts are still stuck

anyone had luck with heating the lug w/a torch? Found that as a solution via google...

I take the upper part of my 3ton floor jack handle slide it over the handle of a 1/2 ratchet. it turns it into a 2ft breaker bar. it works for me if/when my impact gun wont take them off.

One time my adapter for my locking lug nuts stripped out and I just brought it to a local tire place and they used the impact on it for free for me. It doesn't hurt to try.

3ft breaker bar should do the trick or a really good impact.

Nah use some WD-40 on those nuts. They will come off. Trust me. We had this old Mercedes Gelenderwagen with stuck nuts. We had guys jumping all over the huge socket wrenches we brought along. Those socket wrenches flexed like there was no tomorrow and the nut stayed. We put some WD-40 on the nut around the thread - really giving it a good loving of that spray can.

Then 5 minutes after the nut came loose. After jumping on the socket wrench again.
