New Tires!

Yes, all MT/R references I've made are to Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs 245-75-16 E (what everyone else on the forum runs)

Are those tires directional? They look to be,no good unless you carry 2 spares!

My Trxus MT's where a pain to balance also,2 of them took almost no weights and the other 2 have over 16oz on them no matter where it moved the tire inrelation to the rim(mounted/dismounted about 20 times but the same everytime,16oz of wieght).Some tires just don't balance very good.

yea it suprised me because offroaders.com said that they balanced very well. Oh well. and yes they are directional.

yea it suprised me because offroaders.com said that they balanced very well. Oh well. and yes they are directional.

Well hope if you ever get a flat your spare is mounted correctly for that side.

One hint-----if you like mud bogging swap the front tires side to side so they are the wrong direction,you'll have better control in the mud,not very good for driving straight on hard roads though,you'll be all over the place.

When I purchased my TrXus, 4 of them balanced with between 5-7 oz. each, they had problems balancing the 5 th. tire and reordered another tire for me.

Cool tyres & I love your side rails.

Did you have to (and this goes for anyone running 265/75/16 rubber) adjust your caster. I think that's what it's called, I'm talking about moving the front wheels forward to allow for room when the wheel is on full lock & stuffed. Mine are so close and they arn't that big, so that's the reason I ask.

i have not, I only have some minor rubbing when in reverse and by looking at it it will only go away with the fender wells completely remove and the tires wear down some. Forward i have almost no rubbing at all.

or just use the 5th backwards if need be until you get the flat fixed, but yeah running a non directional spare is def. a good solution

OK, I'm starting to wonder if the KJ's have had different positions for the up front suspension & wheels etc. A mate of mine has 265/70/16 ST's on 16x8 rims with 5" BS & runs them with his pinch weld intact. He did say he had his moved forward but that's a big move to be able to run it like that.

Anyway, sorry for that. A little off topic :wink:

that is an AWESOME looking KJ... it's really really hard to beat KJ's that are all blacked out in my opinion.. those tires are sick looking.. i'm strongly considering them for when my BFG's bit the dust..

Would you please consider yourself the official LOST tester on those tires. Please keep us posted as to how they last and develope. I have heard of tires being great when you first get them, but in time turning to crap.

Very interested in tread wear, milage and stability issues in all kinds of driving.

And Woody I would love to be a "Official LOST tester". I agree with you, all tires look terrific when they are brand new. I have good feelings about this tire in regards to mileage I've got about 250 miles on them and have yet to wear down the little top nubs. I will keep everyone posted on sand, highway, trail, and mud performance.
