Easy way to check for outstanding recalls on your vehicle - go to the Jeep website under the Owners section. You can type in the last 8 digits of your VIN number, and it will (usually) list any outstanding recalls on your vehicle.
Ask your uncle if the dealer ever mentioned anything about F37 or did any type of work on the tranny.
Even if they didn't perform the hardware portion of F37, it may have been reflashed with the software at one time or another. If you know someone with an Eqqus or similar scantool that can read what version software is loaded in the modules, you can tell whether or not this was done.
If the ECM version is "CE" or earlier and the TCM version is "AF", then you still have pre-F37 software. Consider yourself lucky, and don't let the dealer within 100 yards of that OBD port!
If the ECM version reads "CF" or later, and the TCM version reads "AI" or "AJ", then you've been F37'd. Only way known right now to partially undo this is to install an Inmotion tune on the ECM.
If your vehicle isn't listed for the F37 recall, it's never been performed or the modules reflashed, and your tranny is still operating fine, I'd never breathe a word about it if/when you have reason to visit the dealership.
