Was curious if anyone else had this go on. I have a 06 KJ and you know how you pull out on the light switch to turn the Fog lights on. Well with both sets on when I go to turn them off. It seems the regular lights stay on in the off posistion. I have to turn the switch back on and off to get them to turn off. Not a big deal. Was just curious if this was common.

mine does the same thing, you have to turn the lights off then turn the car off. there is like a 30 second delay or something.

If you turn the KJ off before turning your lights off they will remain on for about a min or so. This is common on all chrysler products.

I believe they will also automatically shut off after about 5 min or so if you do leave them in the on position (someone who has done this can correct me)

Its called the "sentinel lights".

And it gets annoying, people seem to freak if they think you might be leaving the lights on on your Jeep for 10 mins while you go into the store.

I beleive it started with Cadilac or Mecedes it's designed so you pull into your driveway late at night you can have a little extra light to get to the front door.
Just another gimmic. :!:  :!:

It is an option. There for people who need the extra light for a minute or so while the get out of the garage.

It is adjustable through your EVIC. Check you owner's mannual and you can set that for longer or shorter time. I think the default is 90 seconds.

Basicly it is supposed to do that.

Yep, I have mine set for 30 seconds. I rarely use it though.

I can’t remember the last time I turned them off, I always leave mine on.
Walk into a store few minutes later: The owner of a Black Jeep Liberty License number 123-456, your lights are on.

I have an 05 renny and mine do the same thing. Never really worried about it though since the computer shuts all the lights off if left on for more than 8min.

I like the feature, my driveway is dark later at night, and it adds that extra bit of light to get in the house and see around the yard. It is normal for the headlights to stay on for a few minutes, if you don't turn the light switch off before turning off the Jeep. I purposely don't turn the light switch off until after the Jeep is shut down, so they stay on for that few minutes.
