I am interested in stiffer front springs and softer rear springs. I am not interested in lifting the vehicle but I think it will be needed because there aren't enough coils in the rear. This is a tow vehicle for my crawler so I would like to improve handleing. Does anyone make or have experience with rear airbags (not in combo with the rear springs). If not, what suspesion mods would be best?

Has anyone noticed excessive inner front tire wear? I think the soft front springs contribute to the problem. I'd like to fix this as well.

So you want softer rear springs yet you tow?
They make air bags for the rear but they go inside the spring.
As far as different spring rates
OME is the best out there and they have the one basically like stock rate and the mediums at 375 lbs and heavy dutys at 400 lb, for the rear they have different spring rates as well so you can set it up however you want it

Hope that sort of helps, also contact Heather at AllJs (boulderbars.com) she can give you some great advice as well

I should have used the word progressive instead of softer. A constat rate spring would probably be fine if it had enough coils. The rear coils are so short that if they were a progressive rate they would bottom out like the fronts do. I'm looking for a coilspring that has more coils so the ride is more balanced. Airbags in the stock rear springs would make the ride worse. Maybe I need to look at fabbing a bag setup. I just didn't want to deal with that.

Problem with the coils is if there were more "coils" then when you loaded it then they would compress onto them selves. I know what you want but getting there make be a challenge. If you do a lift like using say the OME Heavy Dutys you are getting more coils but you never mentioned if you want to go 2.5 inches higher or not

I did mention that I didn't want to lift it if I could help it but It looks likr the only solution is the OME kit. I talked to Boulderbars, they set me straight, thanks!

Yea, cant really get stiffer springs without going higher. OME all around would probably fit you great as they only lift the Jeep around 1.5in depending on what spring rate you get. You can go from 1.5-2".

I have air bags with OME HD springs. Got around 2.5in of lift in the rear but only 2" on the front with Medium duty springs. Medium duty all around would probably lift it about the same.

Air bags I have that work with a OME HD springs. Theses are not for a liberty but I have them and they work great.

Does the Jeep look retarded with the stock tires and the 2" lift? I was thinking about OME lift in front and airbags only in the rear but $600 is a lot not including a compressor.

It doesnt look to stupid but it looks alot better with bigger tires. 245/70/16 tires would hurt towing alittle along with mpg but look alot better. They are only .5in bigger.

I dont have a compressor. They came with schrader valves. You can control each bag independently or use one vale that controls both of them. I keep a small Bike pump in that back to pump them up. They dont need much air or pressure at all.

Stock 17in rims with 235/65/17 tires. They are 29" tires which come on most libertys. Thats a 3" lift though.

Here is a pic of the stock tires with the OME Medium springs on front and OME HD springs on the rear.
