Thanks guys! I have always liked being able to see good at night. Maybe it's because of all the deer I have hit or almost hit driving around in NW Pennsylvania. That isn't a real problem here in Florida. But, I still want to be able to see far at night.

Terry

You need to be able to see all those OLD people though!!!! Florida is heaven's waiting room.

Are you kidding Bryan? I get 2 points for every senior I take out. Three points if they are using a walker. At the end of the year I can turn in my points and get neat prizes!! Why just the other day I took out 2 old farts using walkers ( 3 points + 2 bonus points) by cutting across a yard and getting them before they could make it into the house.

These bulbs were $50, more expensive than Silverstars, but better also I think.

Are they a direct plug in?

Terry

Yes, they are! It doesn't get much easier, especially for me!! :D

yea the biggest difference you will see, is when you are on back country roads with no other light around. then you will see the difference. the silverstar ultras in my rooflights was crazy different, how mich whiter and farther they shined. looked like HID color and brightness. you just have to see for yourself i guess :)

but like i said before, even the hellas in my headlgiths made a big difference, with the stock fogs on ,and the headlgihts, you can clearly see the light/color difference on the road itself between the 2

T,

The bulb number is 9007 for the headlights. You can key up google with PIAA 9007 and see the places to shop online. The best price I have found in the "5 minutes" that I searched was at Amazon: Click here for direct link

Those of you with the PIAA bulbs: How long have you been running them? I might consider the extra money spent on those to give them a shot.. But my Factory bulbs are still going strong after 6 years so I am leary of trying them. (if it ain't broke, don't fix it)

I have had the PIAA's on my KJ over a rear and a half. (LOVE them) Previous ride '95 Dodge Dakota for at least 5 years with no regrets, with a little trimming of the ears I instaled SS 9005's into bumper mounted factory Fog lights with some respectful lighting now.

Are the silver stars really any better than stock? Is there anything better that will just "plug and play"?

Terry

The answer is: Philips X-Treme Power.

I changed the stock bulbs for these babies and Eureka, night turns into day, 80% more light, it will fit in normal fittings, they are safe with plastic (kj) lenses and are legal!

I even stopped driving with high beam as main beam is enough power and I live as remote (and dark) as it gets here in Europe.

There is only one word to describe these: FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, no problem! I'll send the number to you in a PM today when I find the package in the garage.

I didn't have good luck with the Silverstars in my VW Golf. They only lasted about 4-6 months, and I went through two pairs thinking that I had gotten duds the first time. The VW also had daytime running lights, so that probably didn't help, but the factory lights had run for almost three years. I have been thinking about giving them another try now that I have my Liberty. Especially if they have improved them in the last couple of years. Would love to hear how they do from anyone who tries them.

I wonder if anyone has seen these before (Not the PIAA lights, the harness below it). Seems like it would be a cheap enough mod to get the high and low beams running at the same time, although i don't know if they have them for the Jeep. I wouldn't do it because I'm happy with the current output from the Silverstar Nighthawks, but it may provide an option.
