RAC is now selling permits to their property. Cost is $100 PER PERSON, not vehicle and is good for one year.

A great opportunity for L.O.S.T. to wheel.

Last I heard only 300 of the 1000 available permits had been sold (heard late last week).

Remember you can only purchase these in person at RAC week days, I think from 8am-4pm (exact details are on the website)

I searched around to try and find maps of the property, but I couldn't find them. Do you know where to find them? For the cost, I would say we would need to wheel there at least three times in a year to make it comparable to the cost of Rausch Creek or the old rates from Paragon. If we get a few people that would be willing to go at least three times a year, I might be able to work something out.

I would definitely be into that! Maybe we can get a group together to head-up to Pottsville to buy permits... any takers??

There's a link on the RAC site that directs you to a county map generator to see the property locations...bunch of guys from the PA chapter of Jeeperz have gone... http://jeeperz.tenmagazines.com/ew/foru ... ia_chapter ...at least one of them has been logging the trails and offered cd copies.

Hey thats in our neck of the woods LOL :D Yes the bad part is the $100 per person so if you take your family and there are 4 of you that's $400 for permits there are alot of places to wheel not sure if those who are use to paragon and rausch will like it ... there are alot of dirt roads, quad trails, yuke roads and coal banks . Trying to find the areas that reading anthracite owns is tough useing the parcel locator. We will probably end up getting 2 passes sometime soon because we can ride our quads and jeeps there. :D

So, if you take a buddy with you in the Spring, and a different buddy with you in the Summer, and yet a different one in the Fall, it's $100 dollars for each of them? That's not cool at all! :( :x

I'm considering it cause even though i'm in new york where i'm located it's only an hour and a half away maybe two ( if i'm slow ), about the same mileage it takes to get to work. Would'nt mind wheelin w/ some P.A. KJ's. Besides P.A. is my second home I lived there for 14 years before I moved to new york. :D

I've been searching around to get some kind of idea where their property is but can't really find anything. Even on the ATV forums they don't say where to go. I would think at least when you go in to buy a permit, they would give you a map or something with directions to various places to park or enter the property. Does anyone know if they do anything like that? That would be a long drive for me just to get the permit though. Would it even be worth it?

One of the guys on jeeperz said that the RAC desk had some maps even though they say they don't on the RAC website.

Picked up our Permits TODAY :D They said there were 1000 permits, and ours are in the high 500's so theres about 400 + left. We were going to head out tomorrow and Explore some but were are suppose to get snow so that will have to wait. You do get a Map of Schuylkill County with the townships and the shaded area's that are Reading Anthracite land. They seem to be going pretty fast this year.
