ok so the Rusty springs are as good as gone then. ill be getting OME springs for the front the first of next month. one question though will the OME medium 926 still be higher than what ive got? what is the # for the HDs? why doesnt OME market there spings to be 2.5" of lift if they are in fact higher than Rustys 2.5 springs??

OME sells suspension systems not lift kits so they are conservative with the amount of lift I would think,
OME Heavy Duty # is OME 927s for the front
also if Seth chimes in he will tell everyone that the Heavy Dutys are only for KJs with winch/ bumper etc. considering that some would think that the ride is too hard

so do u think the mediums will not give me as much lift as the HDs if so ill go w/ the HDs has anyone switched from rustys to the mediums? was there still a gain? oh and i do like a stiffer ride so that wouldnt be a problem and someday i will at least have a winch.

my next question is where is the best/ cheapest place to get the OME HDs? All Js has them for $151.55 and i dont know how much to ship. rock road has them for $167.39 shipping and all and, Rustys has the 926 mediums for 100 a pr. im not sure if they can get the HDs but im going to call and ask. still wish i could get a franky for the front at least.

Which has the taller lift between the Frankenlift Premium II and OME kit?

the Frankenlift b/c it uses a spacer with the OME HD springs and also OME stuts ( dont add any high just a great ride) and Daystar top strut plate. the "OME kit" is just the spings with out the spacer or the new stut plate. i think the rear is the same (plus some new bump stops maybe).. ive heard people get 4.5" to 5" of lift from the Frankenlift. if uve got the money for it for sure get it. i would but im a poor college student with a 3 month old son. OME springs and a clevis lift will have to do for now..

depending on milage the OME springs will be as high or higher then what you have
I think the reason that they do not market their springs as 2.5" is so that they can be installed and even the fine print in
the Chrysler warranty book can not get around that
they state something about suspension lifts over 2" and warranty issues
well with OME stuff it is only 1.75" so no issues there
also it has a lot to do with spring rates and stuff like that
stiffer springs will compress less under a given load so the weaker rustys springs get smaller under the same load
also quality is why they hold up over time not just rate

JSC & Tom,

How would you describe the ride quality of your Liberty with the OME HD's when compared to the stock ride of the Liberty? We just bought an '06 Ltd, basically stock ... for now.

Thanks for your time and input,
Wayne

Ride quality, I think mine rides much better, more controlled than it was stock. The route I traveled to work before the lift had 2 rail crossings and I had to slow down to like 35/40 or it would bottom out and feel like it was going to fall apart, after the lift I could take it at 55/60 and it just sailed across. Out on the freeway its smooth as anything I have had, you do notice its stiffer say at 30/40 mph on a road with a ton of pot holes but not bad. I do have the ARB bumper and also ARB/OME does say that if youre adding a bumper then go with Mediums, bumper and winch Heavy Dutys with that said, even if I didnt have the bumper I think I would go with the HDs. But then I like a firmer ride. Oh and in turns I take them just as fast now as before, no sway

Hope that helps confuse you even more!!

Tom

ok as an update on this i am sticking wth the Rusty's springs for now. not because i think they are better just cause i got a deal on them. yes i am buying them again. i sold my Rusty's lift to a guy that lives near me for more than i paid for it. i had a Rusty's spacer lift laying around so i put it on till i could get my OMEs but since i seen a set of Rustys springs on sale here for cheap and i couldnt pass it up. pluss i think i am going to just save an get ALs 4" lift.

The OME med. 926 are not going to lift you as much as the H.D. 927. Ask Jeepter, he had 926's with a 2 ring clevis and went with Rusty's springs for more height.

thanks for that info!! like i said though i am going back to Rustys springs (not shocks or stuts!!). i doubt i will be ever gerring the OME springs now though. not that i think there is anything wrong w/ them but i want more than a ~2"-3" lift. so when i get the money saved up (hopefully by the end of summer) i am getting one of ALs new lifts 4" or 6". thanks again everyone for all the help an knowledge.

If Jeepin’ By Al can convince me that their lift is a great ride, works for towing, and is a flawless design, then I will go with the JBA, if not, then I will go the Frankenlift route.

well i dont tow and as far as ride goes im not expecting my KJ to ride like a caddy with that much lift to it. heck i like a firm ride. doesnt the Franky use HD springs? im sure by the end of the summer he will have all the kinks ironed out. get what works best for u though im sure JBA lift is not for everyone and the Frany is a great lift.

The Frankenlift ia already tried and true, and I am pretty confident that the JBA will exceed most peoples expectations. I hope to take a ride in Tokyojoe’s KJ this Spring/Summer before making a final decision.
