New Lift Installed !!

Well Most of you who have seen my Jeep Know it to look like this.....

Well even though it's a 2WD the Traction control system lets me go ALOT of places so I decided to..............

install a Skyjacker 2.5 Lift and add 275/70/16's with some Eagle Alloys !!!!!!!!!

Heres the Front bumper trimmed up for tire clearence (I removed the whole lower half of it)

And the side view of the rims and tires...

I trimmed ALOT and Hammered down the pinch welds to make these 31.2's work but it looks a whole lot better than running the Reccomeded 245/75/16's
I also had a SERIOUS problem with the ABS / Anti-roll System after I lifted it, After researching some threads on here I just did an Allignment and it fixed her right up !!

Looks good for a cruiser, but 245 75 X16s are recommended for the 4WD due to CV angles so you can get by with a taller tire than we can.

I do anything but "Cruise" with my Jeep..... :lol:

I've already tested out the 275's on the Exact same route I usualy go and I have NO rubbing !! I'll post more pics of what I trimmed soon !!

The rig looks very nice! It's nice you could get away with bigger tires, due to the 2wd, like Tom said. You gonna take it "light-wheelin"? Just curious...

I'll take it and have the 4X4 Guys pull me up the hard 4X4 stuff.... That's how "Off Road" I'll go.

Plus its really about the driver, everybody knows you can lift a jeep but if you don't know how to approach an off-road trail your gonna get stuck. :wink:

Where are you at and where is this mud hole? I see that you bought it in MoVal, that is just over the hill or through the canyon (depending how you go) from me. I would love to check it out and maybe wheel together sometime.

I actually work for Moss Bros Toyota, I live in Lakeview, the place I Off-Road at is at the end of moreno Beach drive (from 60-E you exit and make a left and go to the end, make another left) then you can go down Riche Canyon and wheel in there. After that mud hole there is ALOT of mud back there I usualy have to fly thru that so I don't get stuck :wink:

Nah... That traction system seems to work well in the mud so I think it also may work in the sand.....

I went thru some sand dunes at glamis 2 weeks ago STOCK and it seemed to do ok, SLOW but it worked. Now mind you I'm not going thru the Dunes and dropping into bowls and junk :lol:

I think that the traction system on this thing is Simply AWESOME, it takes the ability to spin your tires and go nowhere away !!

Glad you're enjoying it. Be careful with ESP in the rain though, it can make you do funny and unpredictable things...

^^^ Been there Done that already, I warned my wife as well... I ALMOST got hit when crossing an intersection because of the ESP kicking in ! :shock:

Troy, Reche Canyon is the canyon that I was talking about in my previous post. I haven't been out past the Reche Vista turn off in a while. This past year has been really busy and stressful so I have not been able to get out much. (I know, that is when I should wheel to take my mind off of things) Now that things are settling down here and I am becoming aware of more of you locally, I will hopefully be getting out more often. I'll PM you when the family and I have time to get out.

that's a great Idea ! I have not taken the wife and kids out yet (Ever) off roading, maybe we can make a day out of it and after maybe hit up a pizza joint like round table off of Moreno Beach drive !
