ok so i need tires now really bad. i was going to give some retreads a try. i went to Treadwright.com to check on prices and seen these MTR retread!!! these tires are only 70bucks each!! the bad part is though that i need tires now and dont know if i can make it to may. so i may just get 2 tires since thats really all i need and then get these in may when they come out. i know a few others have tried these tires on LOST and really liked them.

I’ve thought of getting some tires from here, do you know the difference between the 2416MT GD and the 2416OTR?

the MT GD has there green diamond things in them and the OTR is what they have for and MT right now. i think someone on here has the OTR GDs and likes them. there was also a guy that got the AT and liked them. the Green Diamond (GD) is kinda like studs but they are inbeaded in the tread and come out as the tire wears. they are supose to be better for the roads and work almost as good as studs. i kinda think that they wouldnt be good on rocks though?? i think they might make them slider since its hard and not rubber but, thats just my guess it could be way better. im not getting the GDs though.

I've got the AT's and they're a great tire but I would've waited in a heartbeat had I known these were coming! Oh well, I guess I know what my next tire will be!

Hood, has the GD tires but he didn't get them from treadwright he actaully got them from Green Diamond

If I remember right they weren't dirt cheap. I think around $150. They're supposed to be good tires but to much for a retread if you ask me. It all depends on perspective though.

IIRC, GreenDiamond comes two ways: As new tire from GreenDiamond or from retreaders to whom they sell the GD additive to go in the rubber. I very well could be wrong.

That's right, that's how Tread Wright is able to offer there Green Diamond series. But the Icelanders come from GreenDiamond themselves.

Hey dloc, thanks for turning me on to this website. I bought/installed my BFG AT's in Oct, but I may pick up a set of the 2416OTR (Michelins)... if I could sell my BFG's! Thanks again!

Just an FYI, you don't have to get the Michelin casing. Ask what they have available first. I got mine in the 10ply MTR casing. That's one thing that makes them so worth it to me. I've got a good cheap tire that's still a quality product and I don't have to worry about cutting them on the trails.
