Glo Plug Question

How long does your glo plug light stay on? Even when its near zero here in Michigan mine only stays on for 5 seconds or so......HJ

Mine has never been on for more than about 5 secs even in below zero temps. Starts every time too

yep .. 5 secs is a long time ... in the summer you'll be hard pressed to see it flash at all

Yeah five seconds would be a long time for mine to stay on even when below freezing. I normally see about 2 or 3 seconds. I use the block heater almost every night that I know it will be below freezing out and it doesn't even flash then.

Steve i think you are the king of hi-jacking hahaha...

there is actually a significant drop... i think cause when i got it all in the temp dropped and stayed cold one...
and numero two is my foot is in the floorboards more :-)

... I put the fuse through the side of the box so i
loosened up the connection in the fuse holder a bit... i think i loosened them up to the point that they lost
contact... the CEL cam on again and went back into limp mode... crimped them back a bit more and all is
good.

Oh and the shutdown is the same.. i never did the orm.. just unplugged it once to feel the difference

My fuse is also outside the box. I understand the CEL on again if the fuse
was loose, but confused about the limp mode?
Thinking, YA, if box was out of the circuit, would the FCV shut itself
and cause a limp? It FCV only works in P and N when box is hooked
up, so if box is out of the line, wires are cut, FCV would be in the same position as before box was taken out?

Weather is warmer down here but by increasing my tyre
pressure to 38, running some power service and 2 cycle oil
each fill up, I have gone from 22.8 to 24.2 MPG
Not abig difference but what the heck.

my cold tire pressure is 35 and warm for the front is 38 and the back is 37... that
is just the way they warm up. as soon as it warms up a bit and i get over the initial
thrill of the new power i am sure things will come back up.. gonna cruise on the
highway for a bit toniht to go to a house warming party so i will have a better idea then.
