My Frankenlift is making a lot of creaking noise. It sounds like the springs, maybe both sets. No hitting or banging noise. What is going on?

Check for loose bolts, really look at those front swaybar end link bolts. Also check the strut poly spacers, they have had problems with those before on Frankinlifts.

Sounds like the sway bar to me! Did you hav ethe sway bar loose when you installed the lift? And yes it probably was tightened without the weight of the vehicle oh the suspension. I would loosen the swaybar off and put some grease on the rubber bushings then torque it back up.

welcome to the world of a lifted jeep, you're gonna get a bunch of new noises now. Just crank up the radio (or turn down the hearing aide)

The noise is in the rear. It isn't the sway bar, took it off and left it off. It's the "wishbone" or upper control arm. That thing that bolts on top of the differential. With the KJ in park, I rocked it back and forth, it makes the noise. Bouncing it does nothing. I rocked it and he was under it with his hand on the part he could feel the vibration that makes the noise. He tightened the bolt, loosened the bolt and sprayed the bolt with silicone spray, still does it. He said to give it a week and if it doesn't stop bring it back and he will take it apart and see what he can do. He thinks it just needs to get settled in.

I had a tear in that boot and just replaced the ball joint yesterday. So it's ok.

glad you got it fixed terry. That the ball joint al's y-link extension helps protect from damage, so if it occurs again, that may be something to look into. it's only $50.

everyone has to remember that when you lift a vehicle it changes angles on everything underneath, so something maybe ok before but now, different angle, some rust in that part and you have a squeak,
I would just watch it for a few days and if you sprayed it , it may "heal" itself, take it out and twist everything real good.

Any excuse to wheel is a good excuse!
Give me two or three weeks and I may be down that way with a new Black Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner double cab that I will need to try out!
