i have some "free" money and would like to get an aggressive sounding muffler, that will maybe help gas mileage, if they do that...
i have heard of flowmaster and magnaflow, so what do you guys think...
any experience with any of them and what model they are would be greatly appreciated!
~thanks

I really like my FM Super 44. You won't get better can mileage because you will be on the gas so much to hear the sound of your awesome new exhaust.... 8)

I hate to break the overall agreement but don't any of you think the super 44 has a little too much interior noise? sure it sounds aggressive but after a while wouldn't you get tired of hearing it roar on long drives and such? I have to say the FM 50 might be a bit better, it has an aggressive deep throaty rumble to it without the roar.

shaggy591a: How about making another video holding a steady speed. It would be a good indication of the noise leval.

Spent $20 on a Thrush turbo muffler and sounds identical to the Flowmaster40 and just as freeflowing.Cheap and easy to change the next time I crush my muffler.

Trashed my Borla muffler, actually I flattened it on a trail.

I just installed a Flowmaster Delta 40 and my wife (bonus, lol) and I are both happy with the sound of it. Actually keeps her from feathering the gas, because now you can hear what the engine is doing. I could see that alone helping with mileage. I'll give an update once we have it for a while and I can check the mpg.

I have ran Flow Masters before on maybe 5/6 vehicles, now I have a Flo-Pro, Flowmaster knock off, half the price, and sounds the same. Used to use Woodpeckers (Thrush) for years. They are all going to give you somewhat the same sound, you are just paying for the name, but then that's what a lot of you like to do and to say I have Flow Masters on our engines it doesnt make that much of a difference power wise if any. .

cool man thanks. does it sound prety good? heck for 20 bucks if u mess it up on the trail you could just get another one and weld it on. no biggy. i plan to get one of the 2 when i have enough time to weld it on. by the way the cherry bomb is at auto zone and if anyone needs the part # i have it wrote down somewhere. tom is right heck u are really just paying for the name and if u (really) wheel ur Jeep why would u want to spend that much money on it and have to worry about trashing it on the trail. just my 2 cents. i have heard that the FM is prety strong though.

It sounds identical to USAFCOP's Flowmaster40.

I didn't even weld it on,used exhaust clamps so if I crush it again it's a real easy fix.

good to know thanks. thats a good idea too. still not hard to cut it off and weld another one on. well not for me anyways (im sure not for u either) . this would work best for most.

Thanks! The inside noise isn't bad at all. It has a real nice sound to it also. 8)
