I don't believe it's that. Kind of like Derek Mc, I just didn't want to look like a dork posting something lame. I did a lot of lurking so I had some sort of clue about stuff and get a feel for the board. No need to gab on about stuff just for a post count. I'm sure there are a lot of people with great ideas and insight who just havn't posted them yet.
As far as cheaper mods and accessories without radically changing your vehicle, they are there. They just don't change as much and in turn don't get new posts as much. The headlight/foglight bulbs, neoprene seat covers, flashlight and fire extinguisher mounts, speakers and headunits, drop in airfilters, etc. Depending on your adventure and skill levels there's things like the Steakgoddess bumper cut and the whole fabrication forum.
So hang out here all you want, learn what you can, and post if you have something you want to post about. It's a great site that really stands out and gets noticed. Just play nice and have fun.
amen!
The way i've tried to do it lately, is if there is a question that has been posted several times, and it posted again by a new comer, I'll do an abbreviated post to answer their question, and usually, i'll do a quick search to pull up a more detailed thread, and post a link on the thread they started. But if I'm in a hurry somewhere, I'll usually say "do a search for "insert topic here" and you'll see what i'm talking about"
Remember, we were all newbs at once, and remember how we felt then? Out of the several vehicles i've owned, this is the one i've gotten into the most, and it's thanks to this site and a couple others out there (JKJ and dare I say it, for a short time, JU). Who cares if they don't post back? Maybe they're having a problem with their Jeep and just need an answer quickly, and once they find it, they dont have time to reply back right at that moment. The fact the info was out there and easy for them to find, or answered by caring people means the most, IMO.
