Yup looks like it is the same, next time I go under I'll keep an eye out for the tag :)

Hey Tony

I see you have a spacer lift.

How big was it :?:
Did you replace shocks and/or coils :?:
How has it done for you :?:

Here's my Cherokee...

Still stock but I'm making plans to deal with that....just wish there were as many mods for the KJ as there are for the Wrangler :!:

I'm in Johannesburg, South Africa so parts are not as readily available down here. Good terrain around these parts to have some fun:twisted:

I can get hold of a set of 2" ProComp spacers installed for $400.

Anyone have any experience of this brand?

Hey dloc, D44, is that the Dana 44 your talking about. If you are I thought the KJ had a Chrysler 8.25"? If you're not, then no worries

I also read on this forum that OTT is not too popular, what is this OTT?

Troy also calls anything that has a "Pro Comp" label on it "PRO CRAP" and it must be for good reason.

Maybe Troy can chip in here and let me know what his thoughts are :?:

Same here, I have to deal with what I can get. I have the same choice: Or a $1500 OME lift or .....E-bay :D

Bundu my kit is a Daystar one, it's the 2" rear / 1,5" front lift. Only spacer kit that fits my '01 CRD ( pre-lowered and CRD, double trouble ).

Yours should do fine with the 2.5" kit, available online for as little as $ 159 at jeeperzcreeperz.com (serialnº KJ09115 ).

You do want to add some longer rear shocks to that. Rancho RSX 17004 or anything that fits a Dodge Dakota/Durango '97/'02

Kit works wonders for its price. I do not think that Daystar or Rusty or Pro comp make much difference. The spacers are made of durable plastic so what can go wrong.

I made a little 'how to fit spacer lift', check it out.

And very good pic of your KJ...nice trail! :D

Hey all

Thanks for the info.

What I'm looking for now is some feedback from anyone out there that has a 2'' spacer lift using the standard shocks and coils.

How was the the ride after installing the spacer and how did you shocks hold up?

As long as it's not an Over The Top strut spacer, it should work alright

What is the main disadvantage about an OTT lift? I went for an OTT front and spacer back (cast aluminum), however only about 1,5" lift. but it was enough to fit 255/70 16 without rubbing on the stock rims.

i know alot of people runnig Pro Comp on Land Rovers and even one guy that replaces his OME lift with a Pro Comp on his 2nd Rover. not saying that it is better than OME or that its worth anything on the KJ. ive rode in that Rover more than a few times and it rides great imo!! i think he replaced it mostly for the extra lift though. as far as the front and rear diff thing tom is right ( as always ) but even though there is a better choice of gears for the Dana44 you are still limited by the front Dana30a as far as gear choices. its really the same with the C8.25. both are good diffs though . D44 is a little better. also no not all KJ out of the states have them as far as i know just South Africa, but they are out there. good luck with your lift. i would also stay away form the OTT lift. just my 2 cents

bottoming out the struts. not to mention the ball joint contact is alot greater than with a coil lift. also the cv angle is way more harsh. i have had both(only a short time w/ the OTT) on my kj and have compared them. u can get away with running the OTT if u extend ur front bumpstops. if u wheel it alot though u will wear out the front suspension fast /faster.

I got that from my mother in-law. She grew up out there. Rhodesia actually. My wife's aunt and uncle still live out there somewhere in South Africa.
