I'm running 245/75-16 10 plies and I'm just as happy with my Jeep's power as I was with 235/70s. I can still light them up on dry pavement, it still merges nicely...it's FINE. just go with a 245/75. don't be a wuss:)

I am not being a wuss. I know how I drive and how I wheel. I use my KJ as my D.D. and going to 245 tires will kill my gas mileage, more then it all ready is a killer.

I think I will be better off going with the 235/75 tire.

I still get about 14/19...and that's with an uncorrected speedo/odo, so probably more like 16/21

Been running the 245/70/16 with no issues and they stick like glue compared to the 225/75/16. No troubles offroad on on road. They dont roll the sidewall as bad as the 225 either. I do notice a drop in milage and stopping due tot he added weight. Even at 40psi

I have seen alot of guys here having to pound down their pinchers to run 245/70

if I went with the 245/70 i may not need to touch the pinchers?

MAN I feel like I am being pulled in all sifferant directions.
If I do not need to touch my pinchers when running 245/70/16 I may go with them then.

Many people run 245/70 STOCK!! You will be able to fit that size with a Frankenlift, without any rubbing issues. I think you can run 245/75 without pounding your pinchweld. You will regret it later if you stick with stock-sized tires.

Brian, first of all, whats the big deal to pound over the pinch weld? youre not cutting anything off, which would weaken things horribly, youre simply pushing over the over-hanging metal. second, the whole idea behind the lift is to create ground clearance....going from a 29" tire to a 31" tire will gain you a full inch of clearance UNDER the vehicle! laugh at the rocks that have been laughing at you bro!

I might just pound in the pinchers just to get them out of the way.

Bob, When are ya free to do it for me?
LOL. I will drink and watch you do it.
