Sounds like too much time on the trail/office/beach - not enough time in the gym ladies.

When the wife is not around to open it is the strap wrench for me.

also... don't beat me oil gods, but is it alright if i go about 200-400 miles over my oil change? no time this weekend to change it, and i'm almost at 50K, which is my next interval change.

Eh, you'll be fine. The suggested change interval is 3000 or 6000, the latter if you don't really do anything strenuous or dirty with the Jeep. So if you normally follow the 3000 mile schedule but slip to 3500, it's no big deal. How else would my last change have been at 26000? :D My goal is to get it as close to every 3000 as is realistically possible with my schedule and the weather.

My cap sticks like a bear also. I've been putting oil on the threads at changes lately. I think it's sludge and crust that's making them stick. I just changed my PCV valve at 50K and it was pretty gummy also (right on the oil filler tube). It still rattled but I doubt it was working just right with the gunk in it. A properly working PCV valve should help control sludge. I'm going to replace mine a lot more often now. Cheap insurance for 5-10 bucks a pop.

I'm going 3500-5000 between changes with Mobil-1. Previously was going 3000-3500 with traditional oil up to around 40K on the odometer when I switched to synthetic.

Gee, and I thought I was the only one having this problem. I'm not a weakling, but sometimes I have to "bear" down on that thing with a clean rag to get a little extra "traction". I clean the inside threads and the filler cap till they shine each oil change as well. I can't figure out what makes it stick so tightly.
