First off, This board ROCKS!

I'm fairly new to the jeep world and this board but have been wheeling since owning a Baja Bug in college and roaming the Internet since about the same time. Currently own an 11 year old Dakota 4x4 and a new 05 Renegade. So far the only mod to the Renegade is some trail added pinstriping. For the past few months I've been lurking and learning lots of great info about the KJ. Most of my questions have already been asked and answered at least once, so I haven't had much to say or contribute. The one think that makes this board fun is the more personal social nature of the posts, and the real chance that I'll meet some if not many of you out on the trails. So when a newbie makes that post #1, as my neighbor will say, “come over, grab a beer, have a seat, stay a while.”

Just for the Record:
05 Liberty Renegade 4x4 Light Khaki
3.7L V6, 4 speed automatic, Command-trac, Trac-loc
Mopar belly armor
trailer tow group

I've been on this forum since it was the other forum. I use to post a lot. But now I mostly just read. After being called stupid and getting slammed, I backed off. Why would I post anything when I read that something I've done to my jeep is trash,, or junk? It's the people that know everything, have done it all, have bigger/better jeeps and better mods,, go faster, been there-done-that,, don't have time for basic questions and plain civility ,,, that keeps me at a distance. As much as I enjoy my liberty, and this web site,, once it becomes unfriendly and antagonistic,,, I just click over to another jeep site,, why bother?

That being said,,,, my fellow jeepers in MALOST that I've wheeled with are cool, have taught me a lot and are fun to hang out with,, I'm glad I met you guys and girls. I hope to wheel with you some more. I can't attend every function, and I can't afford the biggest and best mods,, but I love my libby,, and enjoy reading and learning from more experienced jeepers.
my 2 cents

Hey George, I was just kidding when I called you those things   It takes a dumb person to bash others for something they find is dumb. As everyone has been told there are no dumb questions just dumb people that think they know it all. George are you gonna make it to the meet & greet?

Guys, please bring this type of thing to the attention of a mod if you experience it. I haven't seen much, if any of this treatment unless it was directed at me. Compared to other boards there is definitely a lot less of that sort of thing going on here. That's what makes LOST different and we will deal with it in order to keep our board the most friendly, helpful Jeep forum on the net.

Believe me...if I see the words "stupid" or "dumb" directed at one of our members there will be a nastygram sent to the offending party and the post will be deleted. Enough of that sort of thing and don't expect to see that member around for long. Believe me its been done. People do go "missing" around here if they constantly offend.

Ahh, so that's what happened to them.

As a newbie to this particular group, I'll likely be a bit more of a lurker/observer than a poster...

This site demonstrates the beauty of the Internet. I'm not an automotivelectual, but I now know more about my KJ, and cars in general (I know, KJ=Jeep), from reading your contributions than I knew about anything I've owned before. This never would have happened without this site. Thank you all for the ongoing education and heads up on problems. Special thanks to the MODERATORS and ADMINS - this is a beautiful site with great functionality, constructive content, and good members. You deserve all the praise you receive and more!

With that said, why does my defroster make an occasional cracking noice in the dashboard on the driver and passenger sides? Nevermind, I know, IT'S A JEEP THING! Now I'll go back to lurking the boards.

What makes this site unique is the members. Information gathered and experiences shared, not the number of posts. It's really the responsibilty of the members to help out when they can and ask for help when they need it.The members make this site successful so enjoy and post alot or a little, just keep it respectful................... Lurking Is Cool!

Speleorelic, sorry about your negitive experience on the old board. We try very hard to monitor the forums and will not tolerate "Bashing" of any kind on the new LOSTKJs.

Have fun
