The shuddering and clicking mysteriously went away, I wonder how long it sat on the lot. Maybe something was froze up that now un froze. The vibaration still is happening at 50 or 55 mph. I have that isolated to the passenger rear tire/rim. We can't get that one tire to balance. It would show that it was balanced, and just for the heck of it I had him take it off the machine and then put it back on, and it showed out of balance. All others were good. He told me that the tire might be defective or out of round. Thanks for all the help and advice, I really do appreciate it.

I always have to wonder why people post statements like this. The slightest little tiny thing, and they wish they had kept their previous vehicle. What is the purpose and point of saying something like that on here? If you are that sensitive, go back to the PT Cruiser. You bought a Jeep and it will make noise sooner or later.

I will probably take it to Brunswick, I have dealt with them before and they treated me well. The Toyota dealer is willing to take a look but can't get me in when my schedule permits. I just had the tires re-balanced again, all OK there. so off I go to another dealer. Thanks. If anyone has a fix that they know off please let me know.

The u-joints or the front drive shaft are the likely problems areas for the vibrations you describe, but first you need to get the problem confirmed by a mechanic.

I finnally got an appointment with the Toyota dealer I bought it from. Monday at 7:00 A.M. Hopefully they will check it out and fix it. Or I'll be putting it up for sale. Thanks for all the help and advice, I'll post what they tell me is wrong. Maybe I should buy a surplus of U-Jounts, it seems like this is a common problem with Jeeps, no fix a flat in tires, they are brand new. But I have had that happen with another car I had. Daughter didn't want to tell me she ran over a nail, she put fix a flat in the tire and I then developed a vibration. That was quite a surprise for me and I didn't let her drive the car anymore.

U-joints will wear out, can't avoid it and since the KJ has non-greaseable ones they can go at anytime. It is not a common problem,it happens to all vehicles that have used u-joints since the early 1900's.

The Toyota dealer is kinda jerking me around on the 30 day 1000 mi. warranty. I think it is the U-joints. Problem is I can't find any from Autozone or Advance Auto Parts. They are really the only close part stores. I know a lot of you replaced them, if the dealer gives me a hard time I'll just do them myself. Where can I get them from. Also is replacing the front U-Joints a big job. The rears look pretty easy. Thanks

Tell the dealer to honor the warranty or take the Jeep back! You can find another one. 8)

The Toyota dealer I bought it from steped up and took care of the problem. It was the rear U-Joints, they replaced them with ones that have a grease fitting on them. All the vibrations and weird sounds are gone. Thanks for everyones help and advice.

I think its "shuddering" from the fact that you used to sit behind the wheel of a PT Cruiser...I know just reading that gave me the shudders right here in my chair! LOL

I was FORCED to drive one of those when my KJ was in the shop getting repairs from when a little lady hit me...I was stuck in one of those for almost two weeks....egads...I'm shuddering again just thinking about it.
