I use the nipples from the gear oil bottles, they screw on the 1qt ATF+4 bottles just fine and squirt it in,I have a bunch of them left over from doing gear oil changes since I only use one for all 4 bottles I need.

Only thing about using those nipples is i buy gear oil in 5 gallon buckets. I can get it cheaper like that so I dont have any gear oil bottles.

I have an old gear oil bottle(has a regular cap) and pour the gear oil in that using a funnel. Got me a pump for a lower unit on a boat engine, works out great for me! :)

holy crap, ur beastly machine gets about 5 mpg more then mine does. the only real weight add on that i have going for me is the grille guard in the front and my toyo AT tires. i remember very well that when i first pruchased the KJ about a year ago that i got about 18.5mpg...now im lucky to get 16. i keep all the maintenace up as well...its just odd.

We could switch to electric cooling fans. This modification would add horsepower and regain mpg.

Awesome! How much did this improve your mpg and could you feel the horsepower difference?

It was either the offroad group or towing group ( I believe offroad package) that adds a electric fan in addition to a motor driven fan.

Has anyone removed the motor driven fan and just ran all electric fans?

I'm also a firm believer in changing the fluids regularly. its just not smart I'm my mind to spend all the money i do in my rig and not keep the fluids changed to insure the stay in good working order. this goes for all fluids not just the oil. regular maintenance goes a long way

The electric fan is standard on all gas KJ's,it's the mechanical fan that is a option,it's part of the HD cooling package.

I only have the electric fan,no mechanical fan.

Could you tell a horsepower or mpg difference upon install?

What install? The electric fan came in my KJ from the factory,it's the mechanical fan that is a option as additional cooling to back up the electric fan.

Keep in mind tjkj that as you got to the western slope you started getting real gas-100%. That 10% ethanol found in Springs can cost you mpg. But with that being said, I am with you, the simplest and best thing you can do for your vehicle is to keep in fresh quality fluids (prteferrably syn).

I get better mpg's with ethanol gas,I can pull 20mpg's in SD with the 93 octane 10% premium. So it's not the gas.

I have never put in the premium ever. I have always gone with the low grade. Do you think it would be worth a shot considering the extra $ for premium? I am willing to try anything for better mpg's.

The reason I mentioned the gas earlier, was that I recently went to Grand junction and got 19 over there and 22 on the way back. I just assumed it was the gas, as the station pump did not have that sticker stating "this gas contains ethanol."
at Grand junction.

Also, what kills me is my roof rack. I have been tempted to take it off for winter, but just too lazy I guess...
