Those ND's look like they would wear really quick on a DD/weekend warrior, though. I am reading good things about the Bighorns.

Heck, I can't get 9,000 out of a rear tire on my H-D, so I guess shouldn't complain about Jeep tires....

YOU DON'T ROTATE TIRES ON YOUR HOG???

for shame...

WE NEARLY LOST US A FOUR HUNDRED DOLLAR HANDCAR!!! (Name that movie...and yes, I've been drinking)

Very true! My tires serve me well if I don't get into too much mud. Dry trail, sand and highway = good. Deep mud = oh sh*t!

Terry

The one thing most 4 wheelers or more to the point 4 wheeler-wanna-be's do't realize is that you can have the greatest tire on the planet, but if the mud hole you are in is deeper than the radius of your wheels (i.e. deeper than the differential) then you had better have a tow strap, winch or a good shovel.

Deep mud will snag any vehicle, MT's or not.

I was thinking less of how deep the hole is ( mud bog style) versus how well it cleans to grab the next bite. 3" of mud might stop you if your tires become slicks, especially on an incline.

I have seen rigs drag the pumpkin through mud. It depends on the consistency of the mud and/or whether you are are getting hung up on the hard stuff in the center of the ruts. That also leads into the argument of whether you want a tall/skinny tire to dig thru the mud or a really wide one with lots of wheel speed to skim over it, mud drag style.

Just like in deep snow, sometimes you can plow through stuff higher than your axle center line, sometimes you can't. Overall traction & resistence are going to decide which happens.
