Here's the link to J.E. Reel and JBA CV Axle replacements

http://jeepinbyal.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=21

Here's my question: How good is the quality of the J.E. REEL compared to the Factory CV's?

JE Reels are remaned OEM CV's with better boots.

So Troy, here is the big question: Should I have my factory CV's shaved? After all, the Frankenlift II Premium will be exceeding the 2.5" mark.

I am running 3.75" of lift and still run my OEM CV's,haven't broke on yet.The UCA (even with Al's arms) will hit either the mount buckets or the coil spring(or both) before the CV is maxed out.Personally I wouldn't bother.

wow this is confusing!... soo.. i was going to shave down my stock CV's and get the J.E. boots to rebuild them.. but now your saying that it's fine with the stock CV's without shaving 3/8" off them. humm.. now i dont know what to do! I have a normal frankenlift.. i didnt measure how much lift it has so honestly i dont know. i think it's over 2.5.. i'd guess maybe 3.5 to 4 inch in the front... perhaps i'll do it just incase.

If I get rich between now and when I install the lift, I will have mine shaved, if not, then I will leave it be. KJ 2006, do you have the heavy duty coils or the medium? I might end up with 4” of lift by the time I add my 4 isolators (2 for both sides). If I were adding a front and rear bumper, then it wouldn’t be any big deal as the springs would settle a bit more.

well i'm not sure what coils i have.. i dont know what frankenlift i have (i just called and asked for a "frankenlift" and they sent me one) then my front springs started chipping and pealing so they warrantied them and sent me new ones. (not sure what they sent me)..

soo heres the new plan.. i'm going to cut the inside of the CV where the 3 notches are so that i'll have a lot of clearance for the axle and the cup to rotate. If my theory is right then i wont have to shave the 3/8in off the front face. here is the front view (where the boot goes onto the CV)... do i still have to shave the front face of the CV.. and if so.. why?
