I am thinking about getting one of the following for my 2006 CRD Liberty.

Pre-Assembled CRD Frankenlift I

Suggested Retail Price $999.98 with core charge (plus shipping)

or a

Pre-Assembled CRD Frankenlift II

Suggested Retail Price $1131.16 with core charge (plus shipping)

(06+ models require a brakeline extension bracket; add $30)

Can anyone tell me the main difference between the two and suggest which one would be best. How difficult are they to install for someone without much skill in this area. What kind of local shops might I contact about installing it for me? Suggestion appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Matt

not hard to install with a few basic tools, basically unbolt and rebolt the new on. If you were closer could do a lift party and have you done in 3 to 4 hours

I'm in Hanover, PA. How does the lift effect the way the Jeep handles and drives? Are you happy with it?

I have the frankenlift II for gas model and I love it. It drives and handels awsome.
I installed mine a little over a month ago and it is great.
Pretty easy to do. Just time worthy if you have basic tools. My brother inlaw has a huge air compressor and all the sweet tools for it. It made our lives easy.

I'm going to have to get one soon. They look great on the Liberty.

Just put the FL II, Al's upper A arms, and Moog lower ball joints on my '06 CRD. The ride is different from night to day. Handling is far better. With all of this upgrade and I have a very limited schedule, I got the local hot rod shop to do the work.

I did it a few weeks ago... took me 6 hrs but I did Al's A arms, 2 ring clevis and 10mm upper rear spacer... I also dropped a locking nut through a hole in the frame.... doooh... :(

I also had to do some trimming for the 245/75-16's on MOAB's

If I were to do it again I would probably do the lower ball joints at the same time (and be more careful about dropping nuts in the frame). Also, if your on the fence do the clevis and spacer... even with those added, I imediately wondered if I should have gone higher... and wondered where it would be when it settled. Also wait a few days before your alignment. I waited 4 days, but it seemed to settle a little bit more in the days that followed.

I've got Frankenlift II on my 06 CRD, I love it, tested it for 2 weeks in Baja everything worked great, except Rancho shocks didn't make it.
