The best DOT MT is the Interco Bogger.

after this weekend I feel like I can say with a great deal of confidence what is a good MT and what is not
and from what we saw it breaks down like this

1) Bogger's
2) LTB's
3&4) Irok or Nitto Mud Grappler
5) good ole TSL bias
6) and just barely making the count Truxs MT

Running any thing else and you were taking a strap ,lots of straps

I run 31" LTB's and guys running 33" Truxs MT's were getting "owned" on the same hills
the guys running Iroks were running 36"+ tires so they kept up and 2 JK's running Nitto's did better than we thought they would
the "beater's" on Boggers and TSL's did good when they were running
every thing else took more than 1 by pass

we got 2" of rain on Friday night and ran trails that have mud if it does not rain for a week on Sunday
so it was "messy" and a good test of MT's

I dont really consider the Irok as a mudder guys...its purpose it rock crawling but thats IMO...

Dont rule out the MT MTZ (I used to run it) and the Baja Claws (I currently run em) Both are very good multi purpose mudders/crawlers who also do well in sand and gravel.

My vote for best overall rock tire though is hands down the Irok!!! Cant be beat and Ive wheeled with countless rigs runnin Iroks...

So is road noise pretty bad, in your opinion, as a daily driver?
Some noise in my opinion is ok, but are they ridiculous?

Also, does anybody know what Interco claims as the diameter of the 245/75-16? I know what the on-line charts say
but I know Interco tires typically run larger. On the Interco site, they list the O.D. of all their other sizes but not the
245/75.

Well I can tell you that at 60mph they purr so loud that I can't even hear my flowmaster. Mine are wearing pretty fast also because I use them as my everyday driving tire. (They get so may looks I never wanted to take them off)

They are a joy to have in the woods, on the rocks, or boggin in the mud because it is one less worry knowing that more than likely you won't get stuck but if you don't like your tires screaming at the concret then keep your highway rubbers close by.

I had all the measurements months ago, let me look for them...

My favorite MT tire is one that never sees the mud!

I AGREE, these are the sweetest tires  although I only use mine for offroad use just to make them last a bit, but as he stated the looks that you get with them are priceless  :D

Correct me if I am wrong but you need to be lifted in order to run any of the tires mentioned, no?

So what about mud tires on a stock KJ?... BFG? (fwiw, I'm seriously considering a Frankenlift so I can play big too).

you can get the BFG MUD in a stock size without a lift...but if your going to get a lift I would say wait until then & GO BIG after, you will want too

As for the BFG tire, I knew this, but I was asking if you had to be lifted to run any of the tires mentioned here? Of course I agree that I will wait until I am lifted to buy my next rubber. Currently I'm running BFG TA KO LT255/70R/16's.

Anyway, I've heard excellent things about Hanook (sp?) tires, and found it interesting these weren't mentioned. Regardless of that fact, I do like the look of the IROK's.

Thanks a lot for your impression of the Iroks, Xterra2KJ.
Don't kill yourself looking, but if you happen to come across the measurements, that would be great.
I sure like these tires. Just have to decide if I am willing to live with them day to day.
