Ohhh, ok, I understand now. Thanks for the tip/hint. Outstanding drawing by the way, doesn't get any clearer than that.

Ok, here are some pictures taken today of my situation and the attempted rescue, perhaps y'all can assess.

itll be alright, youll get her out, but yea its a pain in the butt isnt it? id change the diff fluids, especially the back one, but other than that you should be ok, doesnt look like the transfer case or anything like that would be affected

i did the same thing before. went down this access road for electrical towers and tried to go through some weeds and ended up getting stuck in a hole that was the same length as the wheelbase of my jeep, so i couldnt rock it back and forth, was about a mile back from the road so nobody would find it back there, i wasnt worred about anybody messing with it. i had a friend with a 96 f250 5-speed 5.8L 4x4, and he was just spinning his tires, had a liberty try to pull me out too but same thing. so i left it there overnight. luckily i was pointed straight at an electrical tower about 20' away, so first thing next morning we tie a come-along to the electrical tower and to the front of my jeep, i had it in 4-lo in 1st gear(5-speed) spinning the tires slowly as my dad was ratcheting away and it finally pulled it out enough to get traction :)

Whoa, quite a situation you got yourself into Rayman. Fortunately you had that tower right there. I don't have anything solid to tie a come-along to.

Really hoping this Dodge gets me out tommorrow. I've got another friend with a Wrangler that has a winch. Not sure how well that would work.

Freshmud, I'd say your evaluation is spot on.

Do you think my buddy's Wrangler w/a winch would work well? The ground surrounding my Jeep is solid, but it's slightly wet and slick (hopefully tommorrow's 85 degree weather will dry up the ground some). You can get a good idea of what the ground looks like in this pic...

Would the winch be effective?

Generally how long is a winch cable, give or take? if possible, I can get my buddy to park on higher, dryer ground to give him an advantage.

Doesnt seem to be stuck very bad at all.

You did start your Jeep up and try to help him when he pulled, right? I noticed your tires were still dry but I guess that was before he pulled.

Hope no body screws with it. I wouldnt be able to sleep if I knew it was sitting out int he middle of a field. :?

Haha, I actually did sleep in my Jeep on Saturday night. Not with the luxury of a inflatable queen size matress though. The field is pretty remote and no one is ever back there, I'm not too afraid of anyone messing w/it.

I did start the Jeep to give him some help when he tried to pull me out.

Not sure what kind of winch my buddy has. I was just looking for a ballpark length.

all the air was out of the matress by the time we were done......wait she is gonna kill me if she sees this........
the warn 9000 is 100 feet so chances are he can get more distance
ive left my jeep lots of places i shouldnt and the only one i regret is the one two streets over from my girlfriends house while "her parents where out of town"

It could be my eyes but I can't see a hitch on the rear of your KJ (hope it's my eye's), if not what are you recovering from?

How did it go :?: :?:

If you have something in the way of a full size HD 4wd P/U with a front and rear recovery point you could daisy chain (only don't use a chain, use a strap) so that the P/U is in the middle and maybe the wrangler is pulling the P/U which is pulling you... sort of an 8wd to pull you out. That should do the trick... don't put something unibody in the middle though or you may tweak the frame. Other option would be a dually... or better yet a dozer. From the looks of it I'm not 100% sure a 1500 is going to do much better if it is also in the wet. And be sure you're not using your rear axle as a recovery point... if your sucked in there, and it looks like you are, if you don't rip the axle right out from underneath the car, you may still be in for some expensive repairs.

*Update* - I have my buddy coming w/his winch later today. He let me know that he has a rated line pull of 9,000 lbs. I do not have tow hooks, is there any place in particular that I should tie to?
