When I take off my stock rims and put on the Soft 8's can I switch the sensors or do I have to buy new ones?

Terry

you can re-use them. they are supposed to have like a 10 year battery in them. You may need to buy some re-packing rubber washers for the seals at the base, expect 10.00 each from a tire dealership.

That is the only issue I know of outside of the version and their compatibility with steelies and needing magnets to re-initialize, and thus steelies not being able to be used on the FIRST year they were offered. Not sure if yours are that year or version.

05+ don't need to be trained but others here have said they don't fit correctly in Soft 8's. Not sure exactly if it's all the time or just when airing down. Come on, Man...go with the AEV Argent Bridgers (like Woody's)so I can see what mine will look like someday!

get the new seals and that can help prevent the leaks. people try to re-use without new seals. big mistake.

That is the place were people love to skimp. also the place where they get burned. good luck. When you install the TPMS just make sure they are installed exactly like they came off the factory rims. Another POTENTIAL issue is making sure they lay FLAT against the center of the rim. You will see in the OEM rims how they sit. There have been reports of the TPMS beinf used in aftermarket rims (not specified as to alloy, steel or what style or manufacture) and because they don't lay flat enough they have come loose and when that happens it can be a safety issue. My AEV bridgers allowed for them to lay ALMOST as flat as the factory ones.

Just make sure that when you install them the lay bacside flat against the inner wheel and tighten the locking nut ONLY to psecs with new seals. Too tight and you can seperate the TPMS making them worthless and loeaking.

IF they do not sit flat, get them as flat as possible, like the factory rims, and pay close attention to them as you put yout initail miles on them in the new rims. Having one seperate at 70 mph might not be the most fun you will ever have. (Kind of why I got all new ones instead of re-using mine, plus didn't want to tear down the ones I took off, for re-sale and just incase i needed to re-use the wheels as is.)

Again, Good luck.
