I personally don't like the look of flare-less, especially the KJ's backside, even if it were just for offroad (and like I said, there isn't much to gain as far as clearance). Maybe if I painted the entire wheel-well and the areas usually covered by the flare black...I thought about it when my flares were off and figured it would still look like $h!&, IMO. I think we're stuck with stock unless durangotang starts mass-producing his custom ones.

There will never be strong after market support for the KJ ,nothing like the SFA Jeeps

Like it was said to me a year ago but one of the "swinging D!&*s" with super lift
"Why would we spend the time and money to make a lift for less than 1% of the people that own a vehicle ,it is just not good economics"
he also said
"look around and what do you see?" and he pointed out
"full size pavement pounder, TJ, YJ, CJ, Toyota where are the KJ's?"
out of over 200 rigs there were 2 that is 1% of the rigs that were at the event and like he said
"over 1/2 of our customers would not come out to an event like this they just dont take them off road"

This is what I would bet more than 90% of the companies that make "off road products" will say about the KJ
They need to see them at off road events to know that it will be worth it to produce products for them

Now Memorial Day is next month and almost EVERY ohv park is having an event
I plan to go to Hot Springs and I will bet money that less than 1% of the rigs there will be KJ's
Now if a group starts going to more sponsored events you may see support
This is how the XJ got its support

The flares would be somewhat pointless, especially in the rear. Take your flares off...even without them, when I flex the KJ out I can put my 31s right up against the door and upper rear quarter panel (not sure what else to call it), and the rear unibody by the bumper (it hangs down by the tire). A different flare can't change all this...you can cut, grind, pound, etc. In the front, the pinch welds need to be taken care for most 2.5" lift KJs on 31, and when going bigger I'm sure there are things other than the flares that need a trim job. Just cut your flares, that's what I did and now I've stop popping my flares off.
Yep it doesn't look pretty and didn't really help.I remounted my flares with some trimming done to clear my 265/75's.
