Ok so here is the problem....I got in my car this afternoon (after going out for breakfast this morning) put the key in stepped on the clutch, turned the key and nothing. No crank no sounds nothing. All the lights and electric work but nothing. I dont really know what is wrong. I rolled it down the driveway and popstarted it to see if the clutch maybe went. It pop started fine and I drove it back up the driveway. But it still does not start. Any ideas? My guess is the starter went...but I wanted opinions.....

The switch on the clutch pedal may have went bad,put in 4low and see if it starts since when in 4low the PCM bypasses that switch so you can start in gear and without pushing in the clutch pedal.

no, you can hold the clutch, it's just bypassing the switch

Well then check your fuses(the box in front of the battery) then check to see if your getting voltage to the starter before you pay out big $$$$ for the starter.

Most parts places will check the starter for free, too.

It is probably your battery. It might have enough juice to light up the dash but not enough to crank over the starter.

I would say a union strike. HaHa.

I would agree with checking your voltage to and at the starter.
You should even check the windings in your stater's electricial system.

Battery is new? Are the battery cables tight to the battery terminal? A loose ground will do this.

I had a similar problem, except I drive an automatic. All my lights, radio, everything came on, but it wouldn't start, or pop or click or anything. It turned out to be the battery.

Instead of pop starting it, get a jump off someone, that should stell you if your starter is bad.

You battery could be good, but it might not be getting charged, i.e. you have a bad alternator.

If it was the alternator it wouldnt run at all.

Check the connections on the battery and check the starter.

So here it is.....I brought it to my machanic and this is what he found. Inside the stearing column is the actual ignition switch that starts the car. What makes that activate is 2 little prongs that go into it when the key goes into the key cylider. One of the 2 littleprogs broke and therefore the key would not turn all the way over to crank. He (my machanic) showed me that the ignition siwtch and the starter both work and he started the car for me.......Here is the kicker. The only way to replace that little prong is to replace the whole steering column. He called jeep and they said that they break every now and again....darn it sucks pretty bad but yeah so that's the problem. Thanks everyone for all of your help. i will update you all when I get the bill and start cursing it.... Thanks again
