I went to a local muffler shop today in hopes of putting a cat-back exhaust system on my Jeep. I expressed to the guy that my "perfect exhaust" would be one that had the most flow, with the least amount of sound. I'm not big on raspy loud exhausts (no offense to anyone who likes that, to each there own.) He suggested doing a Borla Pro XS system, and leaving the resonator on in order to dampen the sound. I planned on taking the resonator off to help reduce the resitriction, but he said that the resonator was a straight through pipe and did not restrict air flow......is this true? Thanks for the help.

Were you refering to your muffler or your resonator? Do you have a KK or a KJ?

Mine was. Once I cut it off I could see straight through it. All it is is sound deadening packed around the pipe(which has tons of little holes in it).

You can read about it on flowmaster.com.
