How many of you pretend that your significant others KJ is actually yours.

i.e. You went shopping for a vehicle for your spouse, bought a KJ and ended up wishing you had got one for your self.

If so, what do you actually drive as your daily driver?

Me...I roll in a 95 Saturn and I also drive a Honda Del Sol in the summer. My wife is the primary driver of the Renny. Hopefully I will be getting my very own KJ next Fall.

It was bought for her, but she has the same idea as how it should look and how it should be driven in the hills :D . She is currently a CNA and drives it daily. I mostly play in my MR2, until she gets home :-)r Then I steal it

 Right here! We bought the KJ when she was looking for a "bigger car" and we ended up with the Libby. Besides very light off road duty while camping, it's been a very loyal and dependable grocery getter! We just recently went to a Jeep 101 at Paragon for a family trip in September and since then, I've been obsessed with taking the KJ and using all disposable cash for mods!.

I've always been more into the German cars and have driven VW's and Audi's my whole life. Now I drive a 2000 B5 GLX 4-motion that I still like, but keep finding myself wishing I was in the Jeep! My plans are to eventually take it as mine and get her something with a third row, or dare I say it....mini-van!

I too must admit that I stole my Liberty from my wife. Way back in 2002, she wanted a more rugged car so we picked out a Liberty (I was working at DCX at the time) but the wife had trouble getting in and out of it on a daily basis. So she want back to the Sebring and I took the Liberty. It's been that way since the first month that we owned it and now it's all paid off and we really do own it.

I have the reverse situation happening. I traded in the '01 Jetta Wolfsburg for the Liberty for me because I wanted a 4X4 diesel truck. But now my girlfriend is eyeing it up. She loves the Jeep (and the diesel rumble) as much as I do and complains that her Nissan doesn't sound as cool or drive as nice. I think the Sentra might have to go some time next year. Another Liberty maybe....

My KJ is my better halfs daily transport as i have a company car a European Ford called a Mondeo (Think Chevy Cavalier size)
My own car is a BMW 750i a 5.0 V12 with all the trimmings and full bavarian spec.

I totally adore the KJ it drives so nice has decent power as a CRD Auto, and makes me smile of an otherwise dreary trip to the office when I swap cars with the wife (not a boss friendly tactic however)
I have many plans to enhance the KJ but it still must remain a daily driver for wife and baby so it does limit my imagination a bit.

I talked my wife into buying a brand new 2004 KJ only a few months after we started dating. I figured we'd probably be getting married because things were going so well, and that would mean I'd get to drive her KJ too. LOL.

I ended up loving it so much that after we got married I went and bought a KJ of my own...with the DIESEL!

Now we are a two-KJ family and couldn't be happier.

I went looking for a Jeep. Wanted the Rubicon, but the wife was pushing the issue of it not really being a family vehicle. At the time she had an 02 Camry and I was trying to use that as a cop-out. So, I settled for the Renny since it had the light bar and I thought that was pretty cool. After about a month she finnally got to drive the Jeep and wanted one also. So back to the Dealer and again I saw the Rubicon. The wife had found a Grand Cherokee that she fell in love with and that still left me without the Rubicon. So we now have 2 Jeeps and I am going to look at an old Comanche (sp) this week.

I started with a 1989 Z-71 Pickup and a pristine 1974 Jeep CJ6 (yes, CJ6). She had a 1992 G20 conversion van (that she hated to drive).

Enter "baby on the way" mode. "Everything is too old and unsafe." Sold my beloved pickup truck and Jeep and bought her an '04 Honda Element. I took the van. 6 months later the van totally falls apart - wife says we must have a van for long trips and around town - ended up with an '04 Toyota Sienna. Guess what? She liked the van better, took it, and I had the Element ... boy this sure is working out...

Finally found my nards a year later, took the Element to a Jeep dealer on a Friday afternoon using 4 hours of vacation time and traded it in for my new CRD. She found out when she got home from work...

What can I say? I'm happy, she's happy, and I can still crunch the family in the CRD if I have to (barely, but it works!).

We went looking for an SUV because of where we live (Cascade foothills) and I wanted her in something traffic had a little more respect for and we found the Liberty. What sold her on it was the seats. She loves them cause she's only 5' and they put in up so she can see over the dash. Since diesel went sky high and my dd is the 96 Powerstroke we started commuting in her KJ. But with a license plate frame that says "This is Mine, not His" it's for sure her "mall crawler"...

LOL this is great!!...Our KJ is really the wife's..(we were dating at the time)she had a 03 civic and was looking at a jetta (which I hate) so I said lets go take a look at the jeeps being a tj owner at the time...and that night we came home with the Liberty. I now have her hooked on liberties and on Jeeps in general. I currently drive a 94 saturn back and forth to work (30mpg) but steal her ride every chance I get. She keeps asking my if I try to "pimp the jeep" as mine  ......heck ya!!

I actually went to the Chry/Jeep dealer to buy my wife a PT cruiser. She begged me to check out the KJ, I did, and I loved it. Bought it on the spot. I will take control of it in about a year, and get her a Civic or some such mileage getter. I drive a lot less on average then she does. My daily driver is my trusty '96 Nissan pick-up(bought new). Just a little 4 banger 2 wheel drive, but it still looks great, gets reasonable mileage, and only one person can ever ride with me, which is usually my dog :D

The upside is, once I do get it as my daily driver i can add the lift, cat back and all those goodies she isn't fond of. :P
