Can I get a pic of the top outside of someones windshield. I got a replacement today, and I don't know if there was a trim strip up there. it looks like there should be one, there is kind of a big gap not to have one.

There is no trim above the glass so you are ok

huh...sure looks like there ought to be... like if rain gets in there and freezes. Idk, not that I don't trust the designers, but :?
Thank you anyway.

When I install windshields we sometimes have to use a moulding (even though there isnt one from the factory) I think it looks finished with the moulding.

I noticed my 04 KJ was like that also. I sort of thought it would look better with some trim of some sort. It would at least help keep the dirt from collecting there.

IIRC, the upper windshield trim was removed from the KJ's due to it causing wind noise.....I'm sure they also realized they could save a buck per Jeep too like when they removed the rear window close pad from the early KJ's. Probably left it off the KK's knowing it would just cause problems.

This better not be a new trend... I just got my windshield replaced. now they are coming back out to fix it again. SOAB  :x :!: I was on my way home, and somehow I caught a rock to the windshield. It was scary though, cuz there was no cars around. I had to think about it for a couple mins, and I went under a bridge just as it happened. Im thinking it was either kids, or someone kicked the rock up and over the edge of the bridge. I just hope it wasn't the bridge, like a piece falling off. MN doesn't have the greatest rep with bridges right now.

Mine started flapping on the interstate one day. I looked at a few other KJs during the next couple days (duct taped the thing down), and realized they didn't have one.

Yanked that mofo off!

BTW...my early KJ never had a rear window pad...but almost all the later ones I've seen do;)

Probably kids. The kids around our city for some reason like to do that. I guess its true that boredom really does lead to property distruction.
