Hi
Is anyone running the rear diff. covers with the drain plug?
Have found this:http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/chrysler-825-375-one-piece-diff-cover-p-152.html
100 bucks doesn't look too bad.

I need one with the drain plug just because of the ease of changing the fluids.
Thanks in advance.
Steve

There are some different ones around, that one is welded, others are cast, there is even a clear lexan one out there.

$100 wouldn't seem bad...most aftermarket covers with drains are going for close to $200. It is excessively annoying that they don't include drain holes from the factory....but I guess they want people to actually inspect the gears while you are in there.

I was looking at those too. I am currently using the LubeLocker silicone and steel gasket for the rear end. It makes it so much easier to change the lube in the diff. No more RTV and you have the opportunity to check out all of the gears and clean things out. Plus at $16.95 it's an inexpensive alternative. It does not address the flimsy material that the stock cover is made out of though. So eventually I will replace it with something beefier. I should probably look for a rock ring in the mean time. Any suggestions?

Almost time to change the fluids in the diesel weasel.

The headless bolt in the top of the differential cover still seems the easiest/cheapest.

Thought about taking the diff cover to a machine shop for the install of a drain? Thoughts?

I have a nice one with a drain plug. I bought it from Rocklizard but they are no longer available. I am selling the Jeep so I might sell the cover if I get time to remove it.

Are there any cheaper good aftermarket rear differential covers that have a fill plug and not the cheesy rubber plug in the OEM covers for our 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD?

I don't care about the drain plug necessarily. If I need to change the fluid, I want to pull the cover and take a look at things

This is a good option, has a drain, fill, and normal level plugs...price not to bad either!
