Yes, first time using the disconnects, was worried about the axle shafts using disconnects but it went okay.

Seems to me, a lot of $$$ money just to run a tire that is 1" taller and 1" wider than you can run with the FLII. I think I'd rather have the extra $$$ for additional mods to my kj too, but it does look sweet and it performed well so far. Keep us updated.

I wouldn't think of it as running an extra tire size. I'd like to think of it as more articulation and clearance. We all know the Dana30a has its limitations with tire size, who says if you get the lift you HAVE to run 33's. Smaller tires may look strange or even make it a bit tipsy, but what rig isn't when you lift it. It is a lot of money, no doubt. But what it really comes down to is: what are you going to use your libby for? do you have enough of what you need now for what you do? or do you need a bit more so you can do on harder trails? Somewhat like tommud said, this isn't a lift for those that want the look. Its for those who want to wheel their KJ a bit harder.

most huge land rovers I see are running a 32" tire...at least around here. they REALLY look tippy, even stock...they look downright scary with a 4" lift

Even so, I would save a bit more for a front axle swap or buy a cheap wrangler or cherokee if I was looking for articulation. More power to him for having the stones to go through with this beast of a lift, I just don't see enough of an upside to it. That said, I never want to drive it, because I might end up liking it too much and would get an itch for more articulation in my jeep.

Wow, I'm getting really excited now. My plan is for this when I get home at the very end of may. Already have the ARB bumper sitting at home and front 4.10's. I'll be doing some work on the front diff and will get some help from my Grandpa's machine shop 1/2 mile down the road. I'll be doing a full write up and will probably wear out my keys on my keyboard. Looks great Joe and I am jelous but hopefully not for too long!

Thanks Mike! You can run 33's no problem in fact Marlin has 33's and a tad wider than mine. If you've been following the posts I only have 3.73's and 32" is the limit for the moment, Marlin has 4:10's. My tires articulate and don't rub anything and that's what I want off road. I did green, blue and black trails, never did a black before and always rubbed on blues. The combination of the Moab wheels and lift let me put on the wider 32" BFG;s which worked very well, like them now better than MTR's especially slinging mud. Correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't seen anyone put a solid front axle in that hadn't put 10 Grand into the vehicle?
Most of the bigger wrangler lifts are $2,500 to $3,000 also.

I know you are running 32" BFGs but could you tell us the exact tire size? Are they 265/75s, 285/70s, 285/75s, etc....? It's just that there are so many different ways to get somewhere close to 32" and some people call a 31.6" tall tire a 32 but they also call a 32.8" tall tire a 32.

Looks Good Joe!

Good Luck with it.

My original test mule (must have over 100K on it now), ran with 295R75's AT's on the road, and 285R75's MTR's on the trail. It has 4.10 gears and a true trac up front and the lock-rite in the rear. My front dif had a custom machined alum collar welded to the dif, and I had plates welded to the area that normally cracked. I did some wild things with the KJ, and it held up. Just try to keep you foot off the skinny pedal, limit wheel spin on hard surfaces (rock), so that when the wheel catches it will not shock the system. This impact shock breaks things.

Nice seeing you again Joe, and good luck!

Al
