It looks like with the GEN5 UCA's they need to cut into your pockets.

Have you guys been reading this post about them?

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=32119

I am not sure about grinding and cutting my pockets to make them work ....

Read carefully, I saw the set of Gen 5s yeaterday and I would not want to remove what it needs unless you do extended bumpstops and are real careful. Too many things being sold and not fully tested or telling people what they need to do to make it work properly!!!! My 2 cents

With the generation 4's I recently purchased I had to trim the front lower pockets on each side a little so the arms wouldn't hit. The upper side is fine, no problems.

Sorry guys. Too much uncertainty about the fit of these to commit to a group buy. I'm wanting these to alleviate suspension contact and I dont need a 'solution' right now that just moves the problem somewhere else...

Yes Gen 4s you had to remove some of the metal from the lower pocket, new Gen 5 you have the "extra " curve " so it hits the top of the pocket. If I was sitting this up I would want more information

There seems to be questions about these arms so I'm out of it.

REVIVE THE GROUP BUY SINCE JeepinByAL HAS RELEASED THAT GENERATION 4.5s WILL BE COMING OUT SOON.
If they are like he describes then it should take care of the problem of the Gen. 5s hitting the top of the pocket that we saw.
Give Marlin a big Thank you for listening and start a new thread for the 4.5 buys ( just my suggestion)

I AM AT AN AGREEMENT ON THIS!

What does every one else think about this?

We postphone and see what happends with the update?
I don't want to install something that has not been fully tested and I also don't feel like cutting any metal away from the Jeep.

Lets see what happends with the update before we go though with this group buy

I want the Gen4.5. I'm not cutting metal for this application. Just trying to save my tires.

So ... is this the official word then? Generation 4 and a half plus trimming of the bottom of pocket? (Marlin still seemed to indicate the bottom of the pockets must be trimmed)

I just want to fix the constant alignment issues at the same time as I replace the steering rack bushings. Don't want to have to do two jobs at different times when one big job would do.

Yes official word from Marlin, Gen 4.5s will be out in the next couple of weeks. I should have a set before that and will update everyone with the install etc. will be a combination of the 4s back at the body and 5s at the ball joint
