I agree that some latitude needs to be given. But, I haven't read where anyone (on this thread anyway) has received a bumper yet. I'm sure there are some somewhere.

He's delivered a few. There are three on his website (including his own), and I've read of at least one other one. The last time I talked to him he had 7 orders queued up.

You've only waited 3 months? Marty had my money for almost a year (for a front bumper) before I finally gave up, changed my order, and sent him more money for a FL II and a basket rack. I got the FL at Moab, but I still don't have a shipping target for the basket. That's over 14 months now that I've been trying to close the transaction.

And Marty has his own shop! Jason is doing the best he can to build bumpers while he's not putting in 60 hours a week for his day job!

I'm not saying anything against Marty--he turns out a great product, and does his very best to deliver on time. I'm just saying that you need to be prepared to wait at least 4-6 months for this kind of custom work.

Jason's a really honest guy--I'm sure he's busting his hump to get your bumper to you. I don't know why he hasn't replied to this thread--probably doesn't have time to hit the forum for a while.

You could try his direct e-mail address or phone # if you haven't already. They're both on his website (scoffroad.com).

He didn't answer my e-mail. I also know that custom work takes time. I don't have a problem with that. My only problem is that if you give a ruff delivery date, stick to it. Especially when it was already changed from the original ruff date. So then I got curious to see if anyone else has had any issues and if any units have been shipped.

I'd like to add that the attitude that these folks are off base for expecting what they paid for is wrong(I'm not going to be brutally honest). Would I give a bunch of cash to someone who pops up on an internet forum with a new product offering? No.
Would I be angry if some guy who wants to play businessman took my money and went on the lam? Yes.
Would I voice my concerns about it to my LOST brothers? Yes.
Would I look forward to posts explaining that I am wrong in the whole thing? Absolutely not.

I hope you guys get your bumpers, but if it were me, I would contest the charges.

I am sure he's a nice guy, but business is business.

unfortunately it just comes with the territory when owning a Liberty. The aftermarket treats us like it is the red headed step child and pretends we don't exist. Nothing comes easy for us so we have no choice but to work with the small businesses that are willing to support us. I have to say that there are some great products out there, you just have to be careful and do your homework before you start handing money over.

Mine, I had installed by Jason in SLC on 4/26. Met ~9a.m., shuttled me to get an econo-rental to go tourist, was done with the install before lunch time. I am extremely happy with the bumper. Only have one photo posted in the Bumper sticky thread, cuz the vehicle was so dusty. Washed it, but got it muddy again this past weekend. The fog lights are great. Sharp looking upgrade.

having owned small businesses before I know from experience that Customer Service is number 1, keeping in contact with your customers is something that you have to do almost daily but then it takes away from you being productive in making the item that the customer wants. But the customer is sitting at home hearing nothing for a long time , then gets upset. Owner thinks what the heck I emailed them a month ago and said it would be a while longer
But yet they must understand that and try to do an overall posting on say there website of where they are whats happening to cause delays, when they do nothing as some have then it just looks bad all around.

Good customer service is VERY important.

Keeping your customers informed of a product that they paid for and have not received yet is very important customer service. AllJ's and Heather are models for customer service.

It does not take long to do a quick email to the customers stating what the situation is on their product. Skip a smoke break, commercial breaks during a TV show, or five minutes before bedtime, to send an update.

Agree with AllJs as a model company, I have called and talked to Heather many times and she treats everyone as a friend. IF more companies took the time to be more like Heather ( and AllJs ) it would be great! She could make more money maybe by teaching others about what true customer service is ( or the way it used to be)

Can you adjust the lights in the bumper (up & down and left to right)?
I really want this bumper, but have to save for the lift first, unfortunately!!!

Fog lights pivot up and down (pitch, for planes and boats) to adjust beam distance down the road. Something like a set screw anchors the lamp to a tang at the bottom of the lamp hole in the bumper. Toe in, toe out, don't believe so.

I agree about the customer service thing. I haven't ordered a bumper or anything, but good customer service makes it easier to part with hundreds or even thousands of dollars for jeep mods. I talked to Heather today, for the first time ever, and she knew my name without even me telling her. I called about a shipment from ARB they were expecting, because I bought a lift from Marty at Rock Lizard which was being delayed, and Marty had contacted her and she knew all about me, so when I called to check things out, she was on the ball. It was awesome actually. Marty and Heather both understand what good customer service is and that is probably why we keep supporting their businesses. I'd be freaking out if I hadn't heard from the bumper guy. When I fork out a chunk of money I expect regular updates at least. If nothing else a simple email to calm the nerves. I'd get my money back and buy when he wasn't so busy and I could get a guarantee for a delivery date. Just my 2 cents.

It seems (for once  ) I have to agree with JL Rockies.... I would be demanding that my money be returned at this point.

I do understand that nature of fabrication work and I know what it's like trying to combine it with a hectic life schedule. But if you pay for something up front you are (at least) purchasing the right to know what the status of your product is. A simple message such as "Hey I went hiking today... won't be able to get to your bumper until next week" would suffice in holding anyone here over. Knowing the nature of the work, however, I would quickly become suspicious that the money you invested was used to finish personal projects and/or bills and the fabricator has gotten into a position where now THEY must raise money to finish YOUR product. It sounds terrible but I know TJKJ or Rock Lizard can attest to how easy it can be to fall into this trap in the fabrication business.

I'm not saying that this is the case and I certainly hope I am wrong. I would be doing whatever was necessary at this point to protect my investment though.

Maybe I am just pessimistic though...

There is a difference between being pessimistic and being a realist. You my friend are a realist.

Is JHCrash the guy making this bumper and you sent him your money for the bumper yet haven't heard hide nor hair from him? I am confused since in the KJ 4x4 section, JHCrash is the one promoting the SC front bumper.

If so, he has been posting in the CRD section this weekend.

I haven't. But, it would seem that he would of heard about it by now. Maybe not. I always hit the "posts since your last visit" thing. Maybe he doesn't. I'll send him a PM right away.

On the CRD page, it is noted that he is having problems with his CRD not turning over, probably due to some work by the dealership. I imagine that would be first on his priority list. Plus, if he is not posting, that means he's working. :D
