This may actually work for me. There is a pretty good chance I could at least attend for a weekend for this one.

Ouray is an amazing place, it really is. I think its WAY prettier than Moab.

YES!!!

(although you might have to monitor snowpack levels - some passes may still be closed)

By July all the passes will be open, the only places we may not be able to go would be places like Governor basin, Upper Cunningham Gulch etc. Which are mostly out of the way places that most first timers to Ouray wont have the chance to see.

Why Ouray? More trails just West of Denver.

Ouray is WAY pretty and makes a much more Photogenic destination for those traveling far.

On the other Jeep Forums I frequent I am constantly surround by TJs, CJs, YJ, that have been cut, chopped, welded, linked, stretched, lifted, locked loaded, and almost always trailered to the destination.

And while these are all nice people who really enjoy Jeeps, most of them are exclusively interested in getting over the biggest gnarlyest obstacle they can.

So to keep it in perspective I put this in my signature over there:
"Its not about what you can DO with your Jeep, its about where you can GO with your Jeep."

Are there 1 week's worth of trails worth doing for stockers and for the "advanced" KJ's each?

Yes. I know the area like the back of my hand, I can show you around and show you some really cool things. I've been camping and 4wheeling in ouray since before I was born and I still have whole valleys and gultches to explore. You could spend 12 hours a day in 4WD and still not see everything there is to see.

I am dead serious about that. I will have to put together several routes and guides, but there are many fine passes to cover that criss cross all over the mountains.

I am moving just up the road from that area and I like to drive my Jeep. Anyone looking for someone to explore that area with, PM me. I'll be in Grand Junction by August.

granted there are fewer harder trails in that area, but I think everything else more than makes up for it
