I could really use all of your help.

I am planning on leaving Friday Afternoon to our nations capital and don't have a clue where to stay. I plan on Fri night and Sat night stay.

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel and maybe give me some suggestions as to the priority of sites/places to see in that time?

For ex., I definitely want to pay my respects to the Vietnam Memorial Wall. Important things llike that and the Smithsonian maybe.

Thanks all.

I still recommend staying where you were last time. It is a straight shot into DC with no turns. Just 15 minutes down the road. It takes you right smack into where you want to be and the hotels are cheaper there than in DC.

When you get down here, just get one of those DC Maps. You can get them at any souvenir stand or any bookstore in the area. Everything you guys want is pretty much in a specific general area and the maps are what you want.

Another thought is to just park at a Metro station (one right off the highway over here in Springfield) and take that to the same place. No traffic, parking, and ticket worries if you do it this way.

Another word of advice, I know you`re a guy and like to do things a certain way, but when it comes to big cities, listen to the locals. They know what`s best (like NYC, right Edgar?). ;)

Sound advice. Although, I like the DC hotel idea better.

Keep it coming though.

You need to rename localhost with either your IP address or your Domain name of the website.

From the message you left on my answering machine it sounds like it was a great trip for you guys! Glad we could help ya out! It is a tough place to visit in such a short amount of time - but it sounds like you guys kicked butt and got around!

I still can't believe you drove straight from home to Union Station!! And made it just in the nick of time!! LOL That trolley is a fantastic tour - especially when you're short on time.

We didn't make the Smithsonian believe it or not! We wanna go back for sure and see all the things we didn't get to see.

Anyway - like I said - glad Dan and I could share our info with you and your family! Get those pictures up dang it!!

Edgar, get a picture hosting site (don`t get webshots as the pics won`t load for some computers when viewing a linked picture) and then link to either the pics or the page itself. You can link them in the "post" box when you post. It`s pretty easy actually.
