I think the main issue that people are trying to point out is that your tank should be 18.5 gal. Most likely there is a problem with your fuel system preventing a truly full tank.

On the off chance that you really do have a 13 gal tank, I would talk with Chrysler about getting that fixed. After all if I paid for a 12 pack of beer but was only given 8, I'd be having a chat with someone. Of course if this really is the case (seems highly unlikely) you did get ripped off at the pump. But who is to say, since you are supposed to have an 18.5 gal tank...

In a nutshell:

1. You do not have a 13 gallon tank unless you or someone swapped in some sort of tank, which should be readily apparent - the chances of you having a factory 13 ( or 14, or 15...) gal. tank are non-existent.

2. It is unbelievable that your tank was swapped out for a larger tank to fit more fuel at a later date w/o your knowledge

3. No one is in conspiring to rip you off at the pump by charging you for almost three gallons over what you believe to be your tank's capacity ( see #1) ( C'mon, how long before a station overselling gas by 25% was shut down and the story made every newscast??? It would not have been just you... What did the station say when you confronted them about this theft? The person using the pump before you, were they contesting it?)

4. IF your reports are accurate, you have another fuel system issue.

6. If you have dented the tank to a 13 gallon capacity without rupturing it somehow, & it popped out to 15 gallons later... This would be on odds with spotting a unicorn & would be readily apparent should it have happened

I don't think it can be stated any plainer than that.

How about snapping and posting some pics of your tank? Maybe that would shed some light on what you have there?
