Well it came and I started it today with the help of a half wit neighbor who gave me the song and dance about how many lifts he had done and how good at this he is..
well after it was said and done

31.5 top of front fender starting and 36 at the end of day one
Boy does tthis look great now this is how a jeep should look
So back to the news ;this moron took the struts to a shop "worked" at
in the process he broke a spring compressor but got the job or so I thought
he forgot the rubber isolator that came with the kit
Now the jeep make a horrrible clunking noise on the front end he bails after i discovr the problem and now tomarrow
I get to tear the darn thing apart and do it all over again ......
Well 1st time was a practice run i guess
This time i just got me a bonified helpper not a hopped up a.d.d. freak
I just cant figure how you do that I gave him the instructions read them and showed him the picture insructions
that are on this site he is just one of those I know i know i dont have to see that kind of people
Now i know and he is going no where near my $#iT anymore...
Well to bed early to rise early and maybe i will get this together tomarrow
we will see
will post pictures when I get done

But let me tell you I love the way it looks ever on the 235's WOW it looks good
Even with the lift having to be redone I can still see how it sits and WOW i love the look of a lifted liberty Damnnnn it looooks goood
I just can t get over the looks I LOVE IT this lift ROCKS
(more later)

4.5 inches of lift  what kind did you get???
Also any measurment do from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the flare/fender, takes the tire out of the mix that way, gives everyone a true measurement

nope no clevis rings
and the tire are not in the equation
measurements are from the same spot befor and after truck never moved and the tires are thr same as well as the ground
only differance is the lift and yes from 31.5 to 36 on a 2.5 daystar lift kit go figure
though the cv angle are a little concerning on th passanger side inside joint

Don't think you are understanding the measure from the center to bottom of the fender, I don't really care what you measured in a way, what everyone likes to see is what the difference is so measuring the way I said to do makes everyone understand how much lift you got. so if some one has 28 inch tires or 30 it would show

never mind................ after it being said on here several times before on the correct way, just do it your way

i understand what your saying
no mater what tire wheel combo anybody is running the lift measurements will be the same
got you
had i thoought about it i would have done the before
i guess the after number would do a lot of good but i could post that number

No hard feelings just didn't think about the wheel center to top of fender
and i understand that some people give a before then lift and add bigger tires and give an after number so that is really no help
just bragging rights i guess

   8) 8) 8) :o :o :o :) :) :) :D :D

Nice! I wouldn't want to have to do one over, but I guess it good practice! How did you compress the springs with out using spring compressors?

Oh and give your lift a few days, it WILL settle down.

I also had that horrible clunking noise in the front end. I completely tore it down severa times and tightened everything including taking the springs off of the struts and remounting them. After getting an alignment it went away for a few days then came back.

Over the weekend I installed Al's 4.5 a arms and the noise has gone away. Had it aligned today so hopefully the noise is gone for good.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions I have tore the front end down a grand total of 5 times so I may be able to answer.

thax
the problem I had was the moron that was helping (hurting) me
the 1st time stupid tore apart the struts he forget to get the washers off the old hard boot strut covers
so there was a squicky sound when the suspension went up and down just a little bit
Also I asked if he tightened the LCA bolt 3 time all 3 times i was told yes
so i hit then with a tork wrench and they were about 50-60ftlbs insted of the 120 on the spec sheet
So that was in fact my clunk was the LCAs moving around.....
Never trust that one loud mouth that is always telling you how many trucks he has lifted in the past

afraid to say how many lifts I have done since you would never trust me again!

Hey ga_repoman, I've seen your Jeep parked on the street in RWC....what a coincidence. I thought it had a 3" lift or so....it sits pretty high now. I turned around a few times to check it out. Have to say it convinced me to do a lift on mine. Then I didn't see it on the street anymore.

How's the ride quality of the Daystar lift versus stock? I'm about to lift my Jeep in the next two weeks, already found a set of Moab tires/wheels. I live a few miles from where I used to see your Jeep parked on the street.
