Sad but true, I'm deeply depressed. My girl is in the shop getting a new engine put in (under warranty thank god!) but until I get her back I'm borrowing my aunts civic. Talk about demoralizing, I feel like I'm wiping my rear end with pavement when I'm driving. I mean, nothing against honda's, the gas mileage is great, but I just... dont feel like a man driving it. I miss my jeep, don't know how much longer I can go without her.... guy at the dealer said next monday, maybe. Hopefully though in a month or two she'll have a sister... XJ :D

This is one of the few engine failures I've read about. Please provide some details for those of us with curious minds.

I feel your pain, Well not to the extent of an engin swap.
I have been having problems with all my cv's axels and drive shafts.
I replace one and 3 weeks later the other blows out.

I was replacing the drivers side cv axel and at the last step, i found out that the new cv was DOA!

OH MAN very bad words came out of my mouth and actually my 35mm impact socket is a few hundred feet away from where i threw it.

i lost it but i felt better after that......now I have my dads truck that gets 6 inches to a gallon

well my drama is well noted in a post in the 4x4 forum, but basically the block is cracked. What puzzles me is ohv_kj invited me to his friends shop to take a look at my lib, and they were stunned when they found combustion gas in the coolant. James told me he beat the life out of his car, and then beat it back in and he's never had a problem like that. I've barley gone through some mud puddles and a few drives on the beach. Engine only had 27k on it.

good news is, I'm getting another Jeep!

My project XJ will officially be under way near the end of august!
