So I came back from a 4 day trip to vegas...not fun...okay it was kinda fun but anyway, I installed the lift today!!! OME springs, rancho shocks, rusty's .75 poly spacers up front w/ daystar strut plates and I'm a lot happier now after I lost $500 a few days ago. No before pic but you guys know what an unlifted KJ looks like. Now I just need some new tires...vegas set me back a little bit! :x

Image

I do have a slight little problem though. I have a bang coming from the front right side...sounds like something is binding but I don't know what it could be since the other side doesn't do it. I torqued everything down to specs and can't figure it out. Anybody want to throw me a bone?

Lift looks great!! :D

I would jack up the front and look at the area where the upper control arm bolts on the body. Some people seem to have issues with the UCA hitting in this spot.

Search the threads on here, you will find pics of the "pocket" where the UCA pivots.

x2 on what kj924 said.

Also double check your sway bar end links, If they aren't as tight as possible they will make noise like crazy.

Scarlet, do you have the Daystar strut plates, or the strut plate spacers?

I have Daystar plates waiting to be installed along with the .75 spacers(which I don't have yet) to see what this will do to the lift.

As far as I can figure, that set up should be the same as the Frankenlift, just with my Rusty's springs.

Any thoughts without getting into a big OME is better than Rusty's debate

First on behalf of all Nevadians thank you for paying my taxes :)

Second, why couldn't you come this weekend to help with my OME lift? lol.

Third, sorry you didn't win while here. The casinos have tightened their belts...considerably. Although Frank Fortita(sp?) GM and I believe owner of the Stations Casino will be happy that you helped pay his $125 MILLION Pay! Yes that is his yearly salary. Sick, isn't it.

Thats why I did and also since I just got done reading the monthly ARB newsletter and seeing how much time they spend developing a suspension system for just one vehicle (2 to 3 months or longer) and then knowing how others do it I just had to laugh, sorry will not happen again

Yes scarlet I bought the Rusty's spacers and you already know how stiff the ome springs are...PITA putting those struts together!!! But other than that little issue I'm having right now the front end looks great where its at. I think I might even add 2 isolators to the rear. Guess I'll take a look at where its banging today and decide what I'm going to buy next

Xodius I most def would have helped if I was there man I like working on the KJ even though its completely jacked up having sae and metric hardware on it :? My dad flew my daughter and I out there as a father's day/going away gift since I'm deploying next month.
