Cool, let us know what he says! I hear you about the illegal thing. Best not to make it look like we're hosting a party... I don't remember any no tresspassing signs, but then again I wasn't really looking.

My trooper buddy is upstate teaching trooper sniper class (no lie). Maybe he'll be back before sunday.

there was one no trespass sign that I saw. If that whole area is one parcel owned by one person/organization, then that's all they need. We'll see what my friend says.

Either way, I'll see you all at the diner for sure in commack at noon.

Hey guys, I realize u r all apprehensive about the area. The guy that recommended it to me is a county cop here and says they have been going there for years. They have trailered stuff to it and taken thier time about getting everything in with never any problems. I'm currently a DHS officer and believe me I can't afford to get arrested or anything similar (and u can bet I'll have my credentials with me!). This place evidently closed up and it was just never developed. Obviously "somebody" has to own it but they also obviously don't worry to much about people using it as other than the dirt mound there has been no attempt to close it off. No fences, boulders at the entrances, etc so I wouldn't worry too much. And again, once u r in no one can see you.
Besides, if we don't like it, we can truck up to Port Jeff for pizza or somethin!

Hey guys, I was in the Commack area for work yesterday so I trucked by the diner just to check it out. Parking may be tight, so I may park at the shell if it's full at the diner. But just so you know, the diner is like the second building up from the LIE, not far at all! Can't miss it. See ya there.

Hey, it was fun. Looks like we may even have picked up a few new Jeepers along the way. I think Adri will be pushing Seth to go on the next Jeep Jamboree (www.jeepjamboreeusa.com).

It was fun. I had a good time sharing tips that I've picked up along the way in my long off-roading career (all of 2.5 years now).

The snow made that little area more fun. Now I gotta clean off the mud before the adjuster sees the KJ this week. hehehe

I'll post pics tonight. I've got a few cools ones of the Cactus Renegades on the hills. (man I love that color).

See you on the trail (or LIE).

PS Benny, I was building snow men with my boys while you were traveling to the diner. Does that count for anything?

Hey it only took me about 15 minutes to get to the diner :D The LIE is great when there's no traffic!! Tomorrow morning that same trip will take me a half hour easy. But snowmen are always good!!

I think the place we went was cool. Small area, but close (for me) and good practice obstacles!! And the State troopers we saw didn't even come after us :D

Ok I have a few pics up, hope this works... I only took 4.
Here's Adam ascending that one steep hill.

This is a landscape shot. You can see Chris on the left.

And here's another landscape with Seth coming up the hill.

Nice! Looks like fun guys! Can someone write a lil blurb about the day so I can put it up in the "run" section of our website? And is it ok if I use the pics above? And if there are any more can you post them here or email them to me at dsnoyes@metrocast.net ?
Thanks!
Sue

I uploaded 10 pics here:
http://www.photoworks.com/share/shareLa ... BF66&cb=PW

I like the one of Seth going over and down. Now GET RID OF THOSE SIDE STEPS and you'll really be ready for action.

Sue, you should be able to download any/all pics from here to post.

you can either use a free hosting site, like photoworks (the one I used). I assume you don't have a web site that's free, like CarDomain (see my personal web page link in my signature) and then if it's hosted, you can post the pics here.

or, just email them to Sue and she'll post them on the NE Lost web site. Her email address is in this thread.

Adam the URL for the VIEW SLIDESHOW button is exactly the same as the URL you posted:
http://www.photoworks.com/share/shareLa ... F66&cb=PW#

So when I click on that it just shows me the page with your first pic on it...it's like being in that movie...Ground Hog Day! HELP!!

right, then when you're at that pic, you click on LAUNCH SLIDESHOW. then all pics go by. You can hit "VIEW LARGE PICTURES" as well. you may want to download them for your site.

Hey Sue, the link worked for me...

As for a write up, I'd be happy to do one, but I'll wait for Chris to chime in when he gets home, and if it's ok with him I'll do it. It was kinda his idea... so I'd rather he's ok with it. Feel free to use my 4 pics all you want!
