Do they last a long time before they start dimming?

How close to Xenon would you say they are?

Are they something you would buy again?

I got a set as soon as I bought the Liberty two years ago. They really don't dim at least I don't remember that being the case. The just went out...... First set lasted about 14 months.

Silverstars are the best for the money. Thats in my opinion. Mine have lasted over 2 and 1/2 years.

I just replaced my first set two days ago since one burnt out. They lasted me about 2 years.

***EDIT - I need to mention that I love them and they are much better than stock. They are definitely worth the money.***

yea i think they are too. You cant tell a big difference, but after a while you get used to them and then it sucks to go back. I had to change my fog lights to make them match though, couldnt stand having that yellow in there.

I like them. They are "whiter" than the stock ones. I`ve had mine over a year & 1/2 with one burning out at almost a year and the other still going strong. My only beef with these are that they usually do last a year and they state right on the instructions they recommend replacing them after 1 year.

Yep, they're great lights. Very clean and bright. Another good option is PIAA light bulbs. I am not sure how long they last, but they are also very white. If they last as good as their bumper mount lamps, they'll be great.

Are these bulps the same as found on the Cadillac Escilade, Infinity QX, or the Lincoln Navigator?

They're not the HID system like you would find on an Infinity or something like that. If that is what you are looking for then plan on spending up to $500 or more for the system. It is worth the money also, but only if you have it to burn. These are just replacement bulbs that will give you wider, brighter, and farther reaching light.

Oh yes - I am not sure if you have seen the headlights of the huge Infinity QX, or the Navigator, but they are not projector style Xenon HID. They are the same kind of look as the Liberty, a bezle and Pulp that somehow shins like the HID Projector style lamp (if that makes sence). I am not to familiar with all of this lighting and have recently begun to research it and really love the ideea of having to one day put a projector HID style light in it.

SO I guess my question is, does it have that slight blue optical illusion to these lights?

I have them in my daily driver and have been using them for years. The only downside is that they usually only last between 12-15 months. Like others said, the are much brigher, whiter and have a farther beam. I wouldn't buy anything else. I still have my stock lights in my KJ, but haven't had the spare money to replace brand new bulbs.

I am on my second set and will buy the 3rd when needed. The thing I really about them is they are more white and not that stupid blue look...like the little rapper want-to-be's. They are very clean and brite. matter fo fact I have them in all our jeeps and the Ford truck as well. later...Clint

Hey Albert...Please note that the Toy run is coming up on Dec the 17th. Come on out and be sure your XJ buddy comes along as well. Looking forward to seeing you agian. later...Clint.

I had silverstars in my old blazer and they were great just spendy. If you want a cheaper alternative GE sells a set called "cool blue" which give the sames results for half ($17.98 for two) the cost of the sylvanias. I got mine at wal-mart. They look blue in the packaging but actually come out VERY white and bright with the lights on. With my Hella 500's (an excellent driving light) and the GE bulbs, the snow on the road is so bright it almost hurts to look at. It's pretty sweet having a Jeep that provides more light then the sun.

I've had the cool blues before i had silverstars, and IMO the Silver Stars are worth the extra money.
