the threaded hole was a kit that was pictured there and welded into the exhaust. Can't be but 30 mins max welding time and the kit cost less than $20 on summit. To me it sounds like a way better option than the open ehm or the $200 provent.

Ok. So i have been readin and rereadin all the info on the EHM and i have to say that i think i will spend the extra money and get the provent so i don't have the oil leakin all over the engine bay.

the problem that i am having is that i have the provent, but can't figure out how to order one. I know, i know.....i'm such a ditz! but thats not the point. if someone could point me in the right direction and give me the info i need to get one for the libby so i can stop all the oil goin into intercooler.

Hi Knt
Why not just do the EHM. 3/4 inch hose hook to the CCV port. Run it over just behind the battery and into the frame rail.
Holes there are perfect size for the hose. Cut the hose on a slight angle like 30 degrees or so, it will at least get the slime
from the front side of the intake for now.
Plug the old CCV hose. I used a 1/2 PVC plug with a end cap and a hose clamp.
If you like it now, order your Provent or whatever you wish but at least for now you are good to go, til you decide what
route you wish to take, if any.
Just my thoughts is all

Steve

Yes I'm running the Provent - I hooked up the CCV/Turbo hose (provent goes in the middle)
however for the drain - I just put 2 ft of hose on the bottom and drain it every month of so - collects about 1 oz of oil / thousand miles.

Isn't the crank case gas blowby acidic :?: That would be the last thing I would want in my frame rails  Before Posative CCV was required I worked in a service station and saw many rusty dip sticks. One on a Ford even broke in my hand :? Talk about embarassed

Wouldn't buying a $20 (big one) air compressor filter at Lowe's be ALOT cheaper than a Provent? Just drain thne oil once a month.... 8)

Not yet......I am just about to though???; that is why I was looking for some different opinions on it. Everything is at Lowe's, to perform the job, and it seems like it will work (like a catch can).

Any ideas on using this for a poor mans provent?
It's not my idea. Stole it from Fred's TDI group. It seems as if it is working on the TDI.
For around 20 bucks, I may give it a try.
Thanks.
