I was just wondering if anybody has put the stainless steel brake line kit on their Liberty? I've been thinking about converting mine to stainless and I've heard conflicting feedback. One buddy says he won't go without them and another says he's witness them bind-up and break. The buddy who says he's seen them brake said they were not on a liberty but rather some other rock crawler rig. It was on a vehicle with more suspension travel than my KJ and I'm wondering if that is not a factor in them supposedly binding-up and breaking? Any feedback would be helpful!

I have the stainless braided line kit that JBA sells, have had it on for 2 years and wheeled many, many times with them on a zero problems.I got them for a better brake pedal feel since the braided flex lines won't bulge like the OEM rubber lines. The kits sold by JBA are made by Classic Tube, very good stuff and DOT approved,I'll be using the same lines(different lengths) for my SFA swap also.

i don't think the braided is worth the money...if tucked in correct then thier shouldn't be anything to cut them...2 cents

Seeing as tjkj is topping out at 5500lbs + He would be a candidate for the braided flex lines. Me in my stock weight KJ, it wouldn't really pay me to get them.

But hey, brake feel affects the way you drive your vehicle. The better your pedal, the more confident you drive.

Edit: Braided stainless flex lines was usually the first upgrade I did on my motorcycles.

They are worth every penny, and actually not that much more then the rubber lines,it's the fittings that are pricey.A 20" stainless braided line from Classic Tube is like $17(about the length for the front of the KJ).Also braided lines are much better then rubber flex lines since they don't expand like rubber will(better braking) and will take much more abuse then rubber lines if hit by a rock, branch,or such.

Another vote for these. I got mine from Al and couldnt be happier. The pedal and increased stopping power over the old 100k mile rubber lines was night and day. I have done a set on my mustang race car and they made a difference but not as drastic as a vehicle weighing a 1000lbs more. Plus there is the added benefit of them never rusting and the JBA lines if damaged you can replace just the line for low cost and not the whole assembly which is easy to repair out on the trail.

Around here, the rubber flex lines split open the outter casing, due to the salt enviroment. This leads to replacement at MVI time.

I was wondering how long brake hoses(rubber type) last elsewhere?
