Hello from the UK! Just joined!

Looks like you are trying to do exactly the reverse to me!

I have a 2002 Liberty in Euro spec...rear bumper with no plate holder and a plastic frame surrounding the spare with license plate in it. This is hinged and opens outwards away from spare to allow access.

I have just received my US spec rear bumper...next step is a trip to the body shop to have the plastic spare cover removed and the new bumper fitted. Changing over is easy...the only difference is the outer shape as everything inside remains and is non US/UK specific eg. mountings / foam / rivets / etc. The shop will simply run the wiring from the license plate light from where it currently is in the spare holder back through the rear door and into the bumper. It would be a case of doing the reverse for you guys. Reason for this? Want a bit of variety and not to look like every other Liberty on UK roads.

The only extra parts you need are the plate lights themselves as in the US you have one light in the bumper. There are two plate lights in the wheel mount slightly smaller in size......think this is because we have very heavy regulation as to what you can and cant do to a vehicle!!!

BTW In a month or so I will have an unused UK spec rear bumper (as in the pic in th above post) and spare tyre plastic carrier going spare. Anyone want these? Would only bin them anyway....so you're welcome to them. Be aware of cost of postage though...might be cheaper for you than ordering a new set from Mopar as I am not charging for the parts themselves.

Let me know...by the end of Jan they will be heading for the rubbish tip!

No pics at the moment...will see what I can do over the next few days.

The spare tyre surround is universal across all years...so will fit an '05. Its was also new in July '05 as the previous one I replaced (due to an unfortunate experiment in having it painted body colour...looked awful!!).

Not sure about the bumper...have they changed across the years?

Mine looks exactly like the pics at the top of this post....body colour black and no damage except for a few scratches in the paint finish.

Thanks for the compliment...as I said if anyone wants them when they come off they're welcome. They will have to cover the postage is all.

Cheers

Rob

Whoever this dealership is that is getting these european parts for you--they may be able to get other european parts like side repeater lamps, folding mirrors, etc., Most dealership--atleast every one that I have been to has told me that it is impossible to get european parts within the US unless a european KJ has been imported here and needed the parts due to something like a crash. Any dealer can get the parts number for foreign parts--but there is a computer block that prevents them from ordering them. The dealership you went to obviously was smart enough to call Mopar and get around this computer block. Most dealerships would just give up when their computers dont allow them to order the parts. I would love those power folding mirrors from the european KJ's. Good luck with the bumper--please post pics when you get it installed!

I think they must have, because mine is grayish plastic. It's also probably of a different shape like the front bumper.

Do you guys in the US really have a big problem getting non-US parts from your dealers? The Jeep garage here in the UK that I got my KJ from two years ago has been great....always find any parts I need. They fitted mt OME lift with Rancho RSX shocks. They ordered and fitted the Renegade style roof light package (which isn't available over here). And they gave me most of the parts at cost so they could take some pictures of my vehicle to show potential customers!

Very good service. BTW most of the US parts they get from a Jeep parts warehouse in Germany...I think the Jeeps sold to the Far East are all US spec and transit through there. So get the parts in a week at most.

Do US KJ's not have power door mirrors then? Really useful around town when leaving the car parked up in a busy street

Cheers
